Great strings
Was a little hesitant to put these on my ubass, but I am pleased with how they sound.
Great String’s
Mahalo Kala for the great string and thank you Matt Masek for being the Best Sweet Water Music sales Tech ever
Excellent strings for U Bass
I had the typical rubber strings on my U Bass and struggled to get them to stay in tune. At the recommendation of a friend, I tried these string and am very happy with the result.
These saved my U*Bass
These strings completely transformed my U*Bass. Wonderful tone from top to bottom, better volume even unplugged. The added string tension has made the U*Bass harder to play. I plan to file the nut and lower the saddle somehow if necessary. It will be worth it, the rubber strings are never going back on.
Kala UBass Strings
Short version: these are perfect strings for my needs. Long version: after wearing out the factory strings, my Kala needed some new strings. Restringing the bass is insanely simple. The new ones far surpassed what I hoped for in touch, sound, controllability, and price. The metal wrapping around nylon core is just right. There's still plenty of the full upright-ish sound,… read more but the feel is much more familiar. HINT: Like all other nylon core strings, these take a day to fully stretch. If you need the U Bass on Friday, change your strings on Wednesday, and retune often. Mine settled in enough to use on a recording project Thursday evening, and were fine for 2 gigs and more recording for the weekend. Yes, I'll buy them again.
