Interesting pedal
Sweetwater did their normal 5 star thing. Delivered quickly and product is exactly as advertised. This pedal has some unique sounds that need to be explored. I purchased it specifically to emulate a 12 string tone with a 6 string AE. That didn't take long to dial in. It's a reasonable facsimile. There is much more to explore and I am looking forward to doing just that. Always a… read more good experience buying from SW. And you can never go wrong with Boss. 2 great companies.
MO-2
If you're a bass player on the fence about this, just go ahead and get it. If you're in a church setting and don't have an organ player, or are looking to add some organ like tones to your music this is for you. Thanks also to Aaron Hoff. Sweetwater has a customer for the forseeable future due to his service, more polite and helpful than any music store in my area.
A Great add
Great effect. Lots of fun making music. For details and sound see the YouTube's. Variation of sounds and it's flexible. Originally I was looking for a close organ sound. If I wanted a more realistic sound of would of gotten the ehx peds. But I could not justify twice the cost. This seems to be a great deal, and it sounds awesome.
Lush Tones for Guitar or Synth
I haven't been a fan of many of the octave effects that I've heard, but hearing the demos for the MO-2 pedal, I knew that I had to try it, and it has not disappointed. I play electronic music, so I frequently want to get different kinds of tones out of my guitar, and this fills that role so well. Mode 1 and mode 2 yield some shift up effects that vaguely resemble the sound of a… read more 12-string, but where the pedal really shines is mode 3, which adds in some lower overtones as well, and really thickens up the sound. I find that it works especially well for synth pad type sounds, and using it with my synthesizer, it subtly makes the chords sound bigger. For lead type sounds, it's a bit less transparent, but sometimes that's the sound that you need, and it does a very good job of tracking your performance, so you won't have to worry. On guitar, I like to use it in combination with rotary effects, and it's really shocking how much the two effects combine to make my guitar tone sound like an organ. Another big positive is that it's very easy to use, while still giving a wide variety of options. Balance determines the blend between your clean tone and the overtones, tone allows you to shape the bass and treble of the effect, and detune feature could be helpful in achieving a more authentic twelve-string sound, although I usually leave it at 12 o'clock. The only thing I would change about the pedal is the ability to select specific overtones so that you could get a true octaver down effect, but there are plenty of other pedals out there with that type of feature. Overall, the MO-2 is a great pedal to try if you are wanting a different sound from your guitar, and it's a pleasant surprise to hear how well it works with synthesizers as well.
