No nonsense - it just gets the job done.
I installed the Fishman Neo-D single coil in an old acoustic 12 string that I want to use more on stage. I've tried several different p/ups before, and have never been satisfied with the result. But the Neo-D delivers; I get the jangly highs and balanced lows and surprising little noise- basically, it just gets the job done. A 12-string isn't the most nuanced instrument on the… read more planet, so I can't attest to the pickup's ability to reproduce some of the subtleties of a good acoustic guitar, but the Neo-D is working for me!
My Fishman pickup.
I am very happy with my new Fishman soundhole pickup. I bought it for my 1964 Harmony Sovereign, didn't want to put a permanent pickup in it. Very easy installation and pleased with the sound, clean and clear with real nice tone. I'm playing it through an older Fender Acoustasonic amp. Just what I was hoping for in a soundhole pickup.
Nice pickup
I mounted this pickup in a 1975 Takamine 12-string in order to get the vintage sounds of the Beatles, the Byrds and Jimmy Page. If you run it through the right amps, preamps or software, it does just that. If you distort the hell out of it, it produces an amazing wall of over driven sound. So I'm elated with what I can do with this item. If I want that beautiful, full sounding… read more acoustic sound, I go to a vintage 414. That being said, the pure, clean sound of this pickup is still very good for some applications. I do wish the supplied cable was a little better quality.
GOOD SOUND
The Fishman Neo-D wood grain pickup is a surprisingly good sounding acoustic guitar pickup! Given its lower price-point, it turns out to be a very decently voiced sound hole pickup. The features I really like about this pickup is that it gives a nice, balanced volume and good tone across all the strings. I"ve used other soundhole pickups over the years where you had to tilt the… read more pickup to get balanced sound across all the strings. Not so with this Fishman pickup. Sound is even in tone and volume with it mounted straight and vertical. The wood grain face has a nice, rich look; topping off this very affordable and good-sounding pickup from Fishman!
