I bought some other strings about a month ago but didn't like them. I had bought this brand strings before and liked them, so I ordered them again. The round core give them a nice, mellow tone, but still lots of punch. I play country and rockabilly.

I’ve been looking for strings that would give me the same volume everywhere I play, and not sound muddy. These strings give me great, full, rich bass tone. I play country and classic rock, and I loved them the first time I played a gig. I’m totally happy with them!

Bought a set of medium DR Sunbeams to put on my Ibanez SRH505 (fretted) bass and at first they were a little too bright, but after a couple of weeks the overly bright edge finally mellowed and they settled into a really nice low mid growl that was very pleasant to the ears. Now, just by switching hand positions I can get everything from a very articulate (Jaco'ish) tone to a full… read more "woody" upright like tone which saves having to pack two basses to the gig. I'm sold on DR strings, they are the only strings that go on my basses. If you like the feel and increased sonic output of nickel strings these are the ones to get. Big thumbs up to Sweetwater customer service and my Sales Engineer Chris Sanders. :^))

These are the only bass strings that I use! I've tried other strings, but I always come back to DR Sunbeams 45-125
