It sounds good!!!

The sound is perfectly somewhere between warm and bright. The cauges are low where it doesn't hurt your fingers when playing for so long. It's slick when it comes to sliding (compared to other roundwound strings) Sounds good in classics, blues, finger styles, slap. I'm happy with this experience. Best price you get for such quality. The only cons I have that the sound might be read more little bit lower than expected. That's could be because of the low cauges. Or maybe my gear setup. I am not certain. So if your style is Metal music or something that loud you may reconsider these strings

Playability!!

I've experimented with a variety of strings this year searching for a more playable string. I spent $80 on a set of Thomstic-Infield. Great strings, but I can't see spending that much $$ every time. I prefer a lighter gauge, flexible string. I play with a light, but focused touch. At 50, my hand strength isn't what it was, so I wanted a string that provided maximum ease on my read more fingers. I tried a set of DR hi beams 30-90, but the G string was too floppy and it lost a good bit of tone. That's when I stumbled on the Pure Blues (Victor Wooten Signature). There is virtually nothing on the packaging to speak to Wootens endorsement. Also, I'm not sure why they call them "blues" as these strings sound great for any genre of music. They are gauged 40 55 75 95. This provides a very balanced tension so that the string resistance is consistent as you move from one string to the other. Combine this with having round cores and they provides a much lighter load on your instrument's neck. You'll likely have to loosen the truss, which is also better for the life of your neck. DR doesn't publish their tension specs, but I'd say they are close to balanced. I installed these on my Lakland 44-02. This was a bass I had grown bored with and was even considering selling. These strings brought it back to life and I'm playing it regularly. They aren't as smooth as the TI's and there is a bit more clank and string noise when shifting hand position. But they are less than a 1/3 the cost, and still very good in those areas. Much better than Ernie Balls or any of the other strings I've played in this price range. The most important thing is that even at the lighter gauge these put out incredible tone.
