It really is better
The knuckle relief notch is the defining feature on the Rock Slide, and it delivers as promised in the text and the Ariel Posen video. The taper inside makes for a thin wall at the knuckle, a better fit on the finger, and the mass needed for rich tone. Add the knuckle notch and next-finger rest, and it's perfect. I use it on the pinky, and the tapered interior also provides the… read more control needed for quick and clean lift-offs when fretting behind the slide. Getting the right fit is important. Sweetwater provides a ring-size cutout, but I also used the internal diameter in the "Tech Specs" and an open-end wrench of about that size to get a better idea, and it came out just right. A week or so later, I ordered a glass Rock Slide for my acoustic, and it's another 5-star. Thanks to my Sales Engineer Dustin for, once again, making it easy to get the right gear.
