Tone Heaven

I have never been happier with a gear investment. The Kemper exceeds my expectations in every regard. The dynamics and feel are perfect, the continuous rotating Nord-like knobs and the whole layout and chassis is both beautiful and clearly functional. The M. Britt free rigs are distilled inspiration. I can't even get through them all because every single one has me spacing read more out and jamming for half an hour. I am getting tones out of my guitars that I've been trying to get for decades, tones I've dreamed about, tones that have haunted and taunted my soul, tones that make me want to scream out loud. I am literally in tears of joy over how good this thing sounds. It seems to be capable of any guitar tone imaginable, including stunning, dynamic clean and partial breakup Fender amp tones - something even the best amp sims still fail at. I would give this a hundred stars if I could. My sales rep, Randy, was very helpful with making sure this would integrate with my interface's digital input. It works flawlessly using a basic SPDIF converter with my Audient interface's optical input.

Kemper and Helix

My sales engineer TJ Jackson has set me up again with another great piece of gear. With the new Helix upgrade 2.82 It seemed like my settings sounded worse. I purchased the Kemper and within the first few minutes through Beyerdynamics DT1990 Pro phones I was blown away. I was so excited to keep playing. It was sounding like I thought my Helix was supposed to...even better. I also read more upgraded from a Presonus to a Drawmer MC 3.1 going into Focal 6Be so that made the Helix sound a lot better as well. The Kemper is a great sounding tool. I used the sounds of the Kemper to dial in some Helix Profiles/IRs from Michael Britt and Tone Junkie. Now the Helix is really close to the Kemper. The Kemper let's me know what a great sound should be and it actually helped dial in the Helix. The Helix so so much easier to use. For example if I want to change effects on the Kemper I browse but it only stays on for a few seconds and I have to go back and forth to land on the right one. Overall the Helix is so much easier to use and dial in sounds. However, I get lost in all the tweeking and spend to much time messing with all the options. I love how the Helix reacts more like the amp would react to gain changes, the knobs are the same options as the really amps etc. With all that being said the Kemper sounds a little better. I like that once you find a great profile you don't do a lot of changes or the sounds gets messed up. It prevents you from trying to search for other unnecessary things. The basic adjustment on the front is set up like an amp and those are quick turns of a knob. That's why I went for the head vs the stage or rack. In the end I'm going to keep both stacked and maybe use the Helix for more effects and clean sounds or hook 4 cable method to use Helix effects with Kemper Profiles. Thanks Again Sweetwater
