Better tone
The bridge arrived in great shape and quicker than promised. Once installed I could hear an immediate improvement in tone and greater sustain. I highly recommend this product.
It Really works!
Bought this for my Gretsch Electromatic 5222 double jet. I was able to use the original bridge pins bushings, but the spacing was off by .2mm. I sanded the bridge pins by putting them in my drill and holding the end( the part that the bridge slides onto) with sand paper. I was able to shave off .1 mm on each bridge pin and it worked. The guitar definitely seems to have more vibration… read more through the body, is loader when playing unplugged and sustain is slightly improved. The saddle adjusting screws work great. It took all of five minutes to intonate the guitar. I am not saying you should sand the pins but… It was easy to sand the bridge pins but do that at your own risk!! I took a chance and it worked out great.
A true upgrade for Gretsch!
I bought a used Gretsch Streamliner with a Bigsby that had "upgrades" which included a roller bridge when ended up being a problem due to not being stable or rock solid. I replaced that with this one, and even though it's not the roller bridge style, it works way better. Now with the other true upgrades to the guitar with flatwound strings, it sounds great and styays in tune very… read more well (locking tuners, string butler, Bigsby Fix bar, Bigsby squishy string, Vibramate string spoiler, zero fret nut). When I first got the guitar, it seemed like even just touching the Bigsby would throw multiple strings out of tune. Since I did so many upgrades, it's hard to know for sure which is the most helpful, but I believe this bridge to be one of the needed fixes, since the "upgraded" roller bridge someone put on it was so bad. There were some other bridges that forum posts mentioned as being great, but none of them allowed for individual string intonation, which caused me to look into this one.
Great upgrade
Great upgrade for the Epiphone abr style bridge. Easy install, fits on existing posts and looks great and sounds great.
