Nice finishing touch
I bought this for my Squier Classic Vibe'50's Telecaster. It snaps right on and looks great! It gives the Classic Vibe'50's an authentic look for the era. Some people say it make palm muting hard, honestly I don't think it's an issue. I play over the neck pick-up and this cover saves my forearm from scuffing across the open bridge.
Looks great, but...
It does not fit snugly and falls off easily. From the description: "...it's custom-designed to fit most Telecasters equipped with a vintage-style 3-saddle bridge." It seems my road worn '50s telecaster falls outside of most. I am sad.
Classic Vibe 50 - Does it fit?
YES! Perfect fit (see picture) - Does it change the tone? Don't know, if there is a significant difference in tone I will be back to comment. Honestly I just think this cover looks cool. If I want to fiddle with the tone I'll connect an EQ pedal or other pedal.
Changes tone of pickup, absolutely
To those considering this product, it DOES change the tone of the bridge pick up on my Tele. If you ring an E chord for instance, and while it is ringing, take the cover off, you can hear a swell. Putting it back on before the chord dies down does the same thing. If you listen closely, there is absolutely a tonal change. My guess is the electromagnetic field is being compressed… read more inside the tray, it's shape changed. I would like to be able to visualize it in 3-D somehow! FYI. It improved the clarity of the pick up as I had hoped.
