Rich Robinson Brass Slide - Large Review

My new favorite slide

I recently began playing slide on a resonator set up for slide, and tested 11 different slides. This was the clear winner. I think the secret is the inner taper, which fits my pinkie perfectly. I also think the 57mm length is perfect -- long enough to cover all six strings if needed, but without any annoying "hangover" (extending beyond my fingertip.) And it's a bargain compared to some of its high-end competitors.

I have 20+ slides of all types, most just sit around looking pretty. Pre-ordered this rascal on a whim, not expecting much really, and am way surprised. About to order another, just in case. I play slide mostly on my no-name resonator, a beat up but magical instrument with an after market pickup that has a perfect bluesy sound. This slide actually surpasses all others for making that sound happen. Articulates notes really well, never understood the beveled sides on some brass slides, including the Latch Lake, the flat surface of this slide works the way it is supposed to work, blasting out full chords or single notes with ease. For my acoustic slide work, this is the best I've found, a nice surprise. Great quality and price too!

Buy this slide

This is my favorite slide I've ever owned. The tapered walls makes it fit my finger very comfortably and makes it easier to control for me. The thick walled brass sounds great as well. If you're like me and have dabbled with slide but always felt clunky and awkward give this slide a shot, you won't regret it.

Slide full of southern harmony

First off I love the way this slide is tapered once it is on your finger it doesn't move! It is satin finished so it's got more of that raunchy sound that rich robinson is known for. I like it for when I want some more bite and just a lot of attack.
