Magnificent!

Outstanding guitar, shipped promptly and arrived quickly. It's a ric, what more needs be said, you probably need one. Salute to Todd Cotten at Sweetwater, an absolutely capital fellow who did a great job following up with me to get this beauty.

Classic Sound

Dave Cudlip

Bought the 360 in Fireglo and love it. I did change the pickups to Toaster style and the tailpiece to an Accent style vibrato. The stock pickups will give you the jangle sound that Rickenbacker is famous for but the Toaster pickups dish it out in spades. But that doesn't mean it's a one trick pony. This guitar sounds sweet into an overdriven amp or overdrive pedal. I run mine read more into a Vox AC15C1 amp with a Jangle Box compressor and a Pro Co Rat overdrive pedal. The guitar is flawless in build and paint finish. Set up was perfect out of the case and played like butter. They are more then just rhythm machines. Soloing on this is no problem. Now I'm wanting a Rickenbacker 620 to go with it.

Amazing guitar!

Goes with my 620, but sounds more jangly, for sure! Great playability. Superior quality and like a work of art. Super light. Thanks to Derek at Sweetwater for all his help, again. Highly recommend!

It's iconic for a reason. Beautiful, resonant, perfectly built

Still made on Main St. in Santa Ana. I had to wait several months for production to catch up, but that's par for the course. Rickenbacker only produces so many of these a year, and this one is now mine. I love the perfectly bookmatched maple back, resonant body, and that classic jangly sound. Using Rick-O-Sound is fun, too. I bought the stereo splitter cable here at Sweetwater, read more too. The neck is easy to play, and was set up well from the factory. The rosewood they use for the fretboard is really thick - about three times thicker than the rosewood on my Strat or Tele. It's lighter in color that my Fenders, too - almost as light as pao ferro. It'll probably darken up once I condition it at the first string change with a little F-One oil. I did remove the bridge cover to enable easier palm muting, but that's no big deal. The guitar was perfectly finished, with a flawless burst (Fireglo), and neck/headstock paint. The RIC case is also solidly built. If it's not in stock, it'll take a significant wait, but really, it's worth it. It's a great guitar.

Great guitar!

It's been a couple months since I purchased this guitar. My initial impression was wow and after a couple months my opinion has not changed. I've had a chance to see how it records and mixes with various pedals and it's really off the charts good. The Mapleglo wasn't my first choice but with limited supply of Rics these days, I wanted to try it and have not been disappointed. I read more don't know if it's true about the Maplego allowing the wood to breath and how that affects the overall sound; it holds true to that Rickenbacker sound that we've all heard from famous artists like the The Beatles, REM, Tom Petty and others. I worked with Paul Lea and he has always went out of the way to get orders out the door quick, thanks Paul! Pros: Quality and craftsmanship Beautiful clean tones and light overdrive is great Records well and has a very distinct sound Possible collector guitar and holds value over time Cons: Your guitar tech may roll his eyes at you when you bring it into the shop, not as easy to setup Expensive Wish Rickenbacker offered neck profile similar to Fender. I'm not a big fan of the skinny and flat fret board, although you get used to it.

Not much to say

Amazing instrument feels and sound like no other. I just don't understand why you don't see them out there as much as it could be.

Great Addition To My Collection

I have owned plenty of Fenders and Gibsons over the years along with a few Gretschs, Martins, PRSs, a Collings and a Heritage but never a Ric. Wish I hadn't waited so long. Was concerned that the narrower nut width would be a turn off but not so as the neck itself has some substance. Truly unique sound and feel. Sounds great with a little compression and chorus or rotary going through read more a clean amp.

Rickenbacker 360-6 Mapleglo

I've had 5 Ric's over the years so I knew what to expect. What I didn't expect was the help and professional input and setup of the guitar including a photo shoot and 55 point inspection before it was shipped to me. Sales engineer Ed Nystrom was very helpful and informative. Very knowledgeable guy. My wife and I have performed in Southern Oregon for over 35 years and have purchased read more many thousands of dollars worth of gear. Finding Sweetwater was a real bonus. I love my Rickenbacker , Incredible care in manufacture by a company that puts quality and playability in their guitars.

I wish I had purchased one years ago!

After two days of playing my new Rick 360/Thinline I wish I had bought one years ago. First, quality, fit and finish is excellent, Rickenbacker pays attention to detail and it shows. Next Playability, this is the easiest of all my current guitars (Les Paul, PRS HBII, Strat, Tele, ES-335, ES-275 ..). Very easy on my left hand with the least amount of pressure to play clear chords read more and notes, very easy to bend strings and add tremolo. I can play riffs up and down the neck moving as fast as any other guitar I have played. As for Sound, Lots of options with the dual pickups which are very clear and jangly. With a little distortion and gain, blues, jazz, and metal all sound great. I should have bought one years ago and I am pretty sure I will get a few more ricks (360/12-String) in the near future. Almost forgot, the case is very good with good fit and finish and secures the 360 just fine. Many thanks to Chris Newman for getting this for me.

Long time coming

Had a Ric when I was in college and decided to sell it when in went into the army. That was in 1968. Have had many guitars since but that darn Ric haunted me until I bought this one from Dave at Sweetwater. My new 360 was perfect from day one. I have bought several guitars from Sweetwater but this one was a long time dream come true.

Wonderful Instrument !

Very pleased with this guitar right out of the box! It arrived on time and ready to go! Kept pushing off buying a 360 during the many years I've been playing (since '65-'66) even though I love the sound, the look and the music style you find these mostly involved with. I thought I could get that sound with other guitars...and they're close, but not the actual Rickenbacker sound...and read more look! Classic and timeless! The Fireglo and Jetglo finishes are perhaps more recognized and while Rickenbacker uses maple wood primarily in their product line....I'm a big fan of seeing the maple, the grain, etc and the mapleglo and couldn't be more pleasing! Even as late in life as I am now...I'm enjoying this instrument immensely already and plan to continue to do so for years to come! I particularly am looking forward to experimenting with the Rick-O-Sound feature, running the pickups through separate effects processing.

LOVE IT!!!

I've wanted a Rickenbacker 360/6 ever since I was in high school. I'm finally able to afford one, and decided to order the guitar "site unseen" from Sweetwater. After an in-house setup and a new set of strings, the guitar arrived, and I've been blown away ever since. Out of the box, the guitar was in tune, and has not gone out of tune since. The craftsmanship of the guitar is superb, read more and I have never owned a better guitar. The guitar feels like a dream to play, and there are so many tonal options, that I can't even begin to cover them in this review. I have a Vox AC15 that I use with the guitar, and with the help of an MXR Dyna Comp pedal, I can really get those classic Rickenbacker chimey tones from it. There are so many things I could say about this wonderful instrument, but I'll just sum up by saying that if you want a Rickenbacker 360/6, Sweetwater is the place to get it. As always, my sales engineer, Mark Magdich, treating me well, and continues to provide superior customer service. My Rickenbacker 360/6 will be with me for the rest of my life!
