Classic Sound

Dave Cudlip

Bought the 360 in Fireglo and love it. I did change the pickups to Toaster style and the tailpiece to an Accent style vibrato. The stock pickups will give you the jangle sound that Rickenbacker is famous for but the Toaster pickups dish it out in spades. But that doesn't mean it's a one trick pony. This guitar sounds sweet into an overdriven amp or overdrive pedal. I run mine read more into a Vox AC15C1 amp with a Jangle Box compressor and a Pro Co Rat overdrive pedal. The guitar is flawless in build and paint finish. Set up was perfect out of the case and played like butter. They are more then just rhythm machines. Soloing on this is no problem. Now I'm wanting a Rickenbacker 620 to go with it.

Amazing guitar!

Goes with my 620, but sounds more jangly, for sure! Great playability. Superior quality and like a work of art. Super light. Thanks to Derek at Sweetwater for all his help, again. Highly recommend!

It's iconic for a reason. Beautiful, resonant, perfectly built

Still made on Main St. in Santa Ana. I had to wait several months for production to catch up, but that's par for the course. Rickenbacker only produces so many of these a year, and this one is now mine. I love the perfectly bookmatched maple back, resonant body, and that classic jangly sound. Using Rick-O-Sound is fun, too. I bought the stereo splitter cable here at Sweetwater, read more too. The neck is easy to play, and was set up well from the factory. The rosewood they use for the fretboard is really thick - about three times thicker than the rosewood on my Strat or Tele. It's lighter in color that my Fenders, too - almost as light as pao ferro. It'll probably darken up once I condition it at the first string change with a little F-One oil. I did remove the bridge cover to enable easier palm muting, but that's no big deal. The guitar was perfectly finished, with a flawless burst (Fireglo), and neck/headstock paint. The RIC case is also solidly built. If it's not in stock, it'll take a significant wait, but really, it's worth it. It's a great guitar.

Great Addition To My Collection

I have owned plenty of Fenders and Gibsons over the years along with a few Gretschs, Martins, PRSs, a Collings and a Heritage but never a Ric. Wish I hadn't waited so long. Was concerned that the narrower nut width would be a turn off but not so as the neck itself has some substance. Truly unique sound and feel. Sounds great with a little compression and chorus or rotary going through read more a clean amp.

I wish I had purchased one years ago!

After two days of playing my new Rick 360/Thinline I wish I had bought one years ago. First, quality, fit and finish is excellent, Rickenbacker pays attention to detail and it shows. Next Playability, this is the easiest of all my current guitars (Les Paul, PRS HBII, Strat, Tele, ES-335, ES-275 ..). Very easy on my left hand with the least amount of pressure to play clear chords read more and notes, very easy to bend strings and add tremolo. I can play riffs up and down the neck moving as fast as any other guitar I have played. As for Sound, Lots of options with the dual pickups which are very clear and jangly. With a little distortion and gain, blues, jazz, and metal all sound great. I should have bought one years ago and I am pretty sure I will get a few more ricks (360/12-String) in the near future. Almost forgot, the case is very good with good fit and finish and secures the 360 just fine. Many thanks to Chris Newman for getting this for me.
