Absolutely FILTHY
I'm no virtuoso, but I do play live in 2 bands. I've owned both profilers, because I'm nearly 60 now and gigs are getting more exhausting by the minute(Haha) and tube amps. My 3 bands play Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC and Judas Priest. Those are 3 bands far away in the tone department as you could seemingly get, and you'd think perfect for an amp profiler. But there's just something… read more about a full stack pushin' air for Back In Black or piercing ears with Victim Of Changes. During covid, the band decided to rehearse in San Francisco at SIR. Nobody was using it, my buddy Paul is the manager of SIR. I was able to go "AMP" shopping and play any head I wanted, after some testing I couldn't believe how awesome this Orange sounded. So, being like any other musician, I impulsively bought my own! 2 weeks ago, we had our very first live show and my first use of the Orange head in a live show. In the spirit of Y&T, FACEMELTING! This amp is heavy...almost 60lbs, and the tone that comes out of this monster is JUST AS HEAVY. Since this was our first show in years, and all 3 singers (Skynyrd, ACDC, Priest) were there, we tossed in 3 Skynyrd and 6 Priest songs along with 25 AC/DC songs. Changing amp settings in the chaos, wasn't super realistic but I figured I'll just roll with it. I set the amp up for 25 AC/DC, just 3 or 4 on the Gain and my Malcolm Young Signature Gretsch sounded AMAZING...just like cheap version of Malcolm (ie: ME). When the Priest songs came up, I switched to my 87 Charvel Jackson and the Orange without changing a thing with the active humbucker screamed through Devil's Child like Satan himself touched the dials. Then came the challenge, Skynyrd. I took my same 87 Charvel, dropped the active humbucker, switched on the middle pickup, lightened up on the string picking and HOLY HELL, I was headed out towards door with Ronnie. Could I have perfected the tone? Sure...but one amp, 2 guitars, 3 different pick ups all handled flawlessly without touching the dial...just pick ups and string attack for the win. I will keep playing live shows with this monster until I can't pick the head up anymore, and then I'll get a roadie. I love this amp.
Best Amp in the world
Excellent amp, this thing will make you sound like ADAM JONES.
Perfect for any type of music
let me cut right to the chase in regards to a few specific types of music. This amp is an all out Doom machine. I run a Dunwich DA120 Overdrive in front of the dirty channel of this amp while it is set to low gain (around 3 or 4). I crank the volume up to get those tubes sweating. The tone is unbelievable. It has tons of bass and is well articulated. Kick off the over drive… read more and I am left with the raw tone of the amp. A really fantastic crunch tone that responds incredibly well to picking dynamics and the volume knob on my guitar. With the gain cranked up and a clean boost in front, this amp morphs into an all out modern metal amplifier. If I run a 10 band EQ in the loop, I can coax some of the most brutal death metal tones out of this thing. and it sounds HUGE. Fully saturated and super punchy. With the cleans, I can play beautiful ambient chords and nice jazz licks. with the volume cranked, the breakup gives some excellent grit for playing blues too. The point I am trying to illustrate is this: This amp can do almost anything. I have had many different amplifiers over the years. This one is easily the best I have ever had though. It is extremely versatile. People often describe this amp as very "modern" sounding which to me, was a major drawback when I was thinking about purchasing it. Realistically though, you can get the Rockerverb MKiii to sound like anything you want. If my rockerverb was stolen tomorrow, I would buy another one immediately. I wouldn't even question getting something else. This thing can handle anything from Blues, Jazz, and classic rock all the way to Fuzzed out doom and fully saturated high gain Death metal. This is a desert island amp for sure.
It just works for everything
This is my second one , it’s just a very versatile amp that u can get about anything out of ......good stuff all around !
Beefy
This is more than I will ever need. I paired this with my Orange PPC 412. This set-up rattles my chest and my neighbors hate me. Excellent purchase. I went with black on both, not that it matters. I just dig the scheme. Thank you to Cody, my sales engineer. Top notch experience all around. This is the customer service bar everyone should be striving for.
