No drama flat wound strings
I'm a drummer, dabbling in bass for fun. I wanted to try some flat-wound strings since my crusty old drummer fingers were making too much noise on the round-wounds which came with my bass. I knew the Rotosound brand from decades ago, but I wasn't sure about how they compared in the modern age. I need not have worried, these strings installed easily and sound great. The finger/string… read more noise is gone even with my poor technique. The tone of these is slightly more subdued or muddy than round-wounds, but a minor adjustment in the pickup knobs and I was in business. Much more comfortable to play, and I did not find it necessary to adjust the truss rod. After a day of adjustment they stay in tune. I expect to stick with these strings for a long time.
The best bass strings I’ve ever had.
Great strings. Feel good to play and sounds great on my P bass. They have pretty wide dynamics. They sounds good anywhere on the neck. Only time they don't sound great is with the tone all the way up on my P bass. Tone down or halfway is great though. Also sound very good on a J bass. Highly recommend these.
Rotosound RS770LD Monel Flatwound (.045 - .105) were just hat I was looking for.
Purchased and installed the Rotosound RS77LD Monel Flatwounds (.045 - .105) on my jazz bass. I like the tone and enjoy less finger noise and the smoother feel of the stings on my fingers.
Best strings ever
I wanted my Fender bass to sound warm, somewhat like a stand-up acoustic bass. These strings helped make that happen. I mean, these strings will rock out, but they're also warm and jazzy. They do it all, and they don't make as much clanky noise as wound strings. And because they're flatwound, they feel great against my fingers. I can't image a better string for my needs. Many thanks… read more to Andrew for recommending them!
Sweet Ol’ Strings!
Smooth as silk with a very nice thud on the bottom. Excellent in the pocket.
