Even darker than black. These strings are amazing, I can't believe what a difference to make. They're not for everyone I'm sure but if you're looking for a deeper, darker, tone... look no further.

Bought the first set for this Bass, about 2 years ago. Accidentally nicked the 'tape' on one of the strings. It hasn't seemed to affect the tone of that string, but I want to have a set on-hand, in case it does start going south.
