Updated review
I have spent more time using this slide and wish to give an updated opinion. I recently restrung my Breedlove C-20 SM with medium guage phosphor bronze strings. That change made quite a difference. I performed at an open mic last week (now shut down due to COVID). I use a LR Baggs Anthem and plug into a Fishman Loudbox Mini. This combination always makes my guitar sound great.… read more I do like the Rev Willy slide a lot. The fit on my pinky is just right. With the heavier string set, I can lean into the strings a bit more or use less pressure to vary the dynamics. All in all, a really nice slide. Very happy using the heavier string set.
THE BEST YET
I own chrome, glass, brass and now this Rev. Willy ceramic. It has a warmer tone than the others. Another plus is that the porous ceramic inside has grip so your finger doesn't slide out. Plus the Billy Gibbons logo is cool. My 2nd favorite is the dunlop blues bottle. A replica of the old Corcidan bottles that Duane Allnan used. It's good also.
Great Slide
This is the second one I've purchased, and have ordered another for a spare ,great tone as well as weight it fits my pinky finger well . the first one I broke in two pieces after dropping it on a ceramic tile floor , they are not indestructible but they are pretty tough
A killer slide full of Mojo
I don't consider myself a slide guitar player I am no Derek Trucks or Duane Allman by any stretch but I can hold my own. I'm more of a Billy gibbons slide guy! But I have used glass and steel but never tried porcelain, I used a thin walled Pyrex slide for years thru my teens and also used a Regular walled steel slide on my stratocaster. I grew to love the sound of glass and still… read more do then I got a Rev Willy G bottleneck slide and that slide is my far the best and most favorite of mine! But I wanted to try porcelain! So I got this little bad boy and was I amazed! It was smooth, and very warm sounding, has plenty of harmonic content and has the right amount of highs but not too much! It's a rich sounding slide and has great sustain! I love it for electric guitar! It's light but not like a glass slide and the interior prevents slipping and absorbs sweat! Dunlop has done it again! Get one today and you won't be disappointed!
Rev Willy's Slide
I have not ever really tried to play slide before but bought a resonator guitar and wanted to give it a try. I personaly like the sound of Porcelain over metal. This slide and the Dunlop Moonshine side are both nice. This one is smaller in outside diameter than the moonshine if that helps anyone. Good tone from these slides.
