Yeras ago I was playing guitar when the strap suddenly came loose. Although there was no significant damage to my guitar, I decided that would never happen again. I have tried other strap locks in the past, but I now only use Schaller on all my guitars. I like them the best. They are well made, easy to install, look good, are silent and very dependable. Ok, for installation instructions: scan the side of the box for video. It takes you to the Schaller page where you see a box to click on for the video. It's a pretty easy install but the video is helpful, mainly for hex key sizes. The screws for the guitar body were fine. They screw in nice and snug. The button release for the strap was a little tight but a small amount of WD helped.… read more I'm sure it will smooth out over time. They're strap locks and they work. Nice. Impressive New Design
I usually don't review products publicly, but I have to say, these redesigned Strap Locks are a cut above! Installed a black chrome set on a 20 year old Gibson SG 61 reissue. Install was fast and easy, screw size was perfect for a good bite, and I'll have to add that using an Allen wrench gives you much better leverage turning that screw than a standard screwdriver. You will need… read more a small regular screwdriver to tighten the screw on the retaining ring, but it's really not an inconvenience to those of us who are always making changes to their guitars. I trust these things
My guitars aren't not cheap (not even my cheap ones), and the idea of one of them hitting the floor is absolutely not tolerated. I've been using these on my guitars exclusively and have had zero issues.
