I've only dropped an ax without them

Still in my early years I dropped one as I hopped up out of a chair and the strap slipped the button- Strap locks ever since

Every guitar I have gets these. No questions asked. They work, they're dependable, and they protect your investment. Buy them today. If you don't have a salesman, I recommend Tyler Moore. He's the best!

The ONLY lock you ever need for Electric Guitar

My first encounter with Dunlop Straploks came many years ago and was one of my first mods to my first guitar, a 1978 Left handed Fender Stratocaster (my old Strat is heavy!). The ease of locking and unlocking as well as the simplicity of attachment to a thick sturdy leather guitar strap won me over way back then. Of course years have passed and my collection of guitars has grown read more like my waistline and there are now many companies offering their own unique take on "strap locks". I have a set of the "other folks" design on a guitar I purchased 2 or 3 years ago and my personal experience is that the other locks are more difficult to install on a good thick leather strap (the part that attaches to the back of the strap feels like it gets loose on the threads and I tighten it with an 11mm ratchet every now and then) and the locking mechanism is more of a 1 sided U lock than a total lock. The U turns around on my strap and even though I am sure the locks are secure, their attachment to my guitar strap leaves a little to be desired. If you have them you know what I mean. In any case, Dunlops are the best by far and my new guitar is completely secure. On big screw holes (in the guitar's body) I put slivers of wooden matches or toothpicks into the hole to get more bite from the attaching screw, and I always dip the attaching screw in Gorilla glue or Super glue before I screw the lock into the body. Note: My original set of Dunlop Straploks had an extremely long shaft (the parts that get screwed into the body of the guitar) so long that it could cause instability if I set my guitar down on its bottom and leaned against something, and even long enough to cause my guitar to fit differently inside the hard shell case MADE for that guitar. Long story short - that design nitpick has been resolved, my new Dunlop Straploks are very similar in length and girth dimensions to most original stock strap buttons and they work perfectly. Love the finish options (I went with brass this time and it looks grand on a chocolate brown Levy's strap and a 3 color dark sunburst G&L 2HB guitar). I won't stray from the Dunlop Straploks again.

Very good!!

Dunlop straploks

I have been using Dunlop straploks since they first came out , so , yeah , a while now.One of the nice improvements over the years, the design , small as it may be , is that it is a lot easier to put on any thickness of strap without trouble . I have other brands as well , were given to me new . I had one brand new guitar drop several times , even came undone on the stand... Dunlop read more never has & if I am messing with a new strap , I can use it without the locks to check it or size it , whatever because they are actual strap buttons as well .. The originals have never given me trouble nor have the new ones . I was happy that Sweetwater carries them. Like Dunlop , Sweetwater never lets me down.
