Schaller's S-Locks have always been the best and are STILL the best. I trust any and all my instruments with them.
Does what it should, does it well.
Why the lengthy review? Well, if you ever had a bass tumble off you for no expected reason then you know why. Seasoned player..studio, live, etc. The first thing I do to every new bass is to switch out the strap locks to these. And I mean every bass. New Sadowsky showed up, had the Dunlop type pre-loaded onto the bass and accompanying strap, they are now in the Schaller case.… read more I have had a Dunlop fail me. On stage. During a show. These little gems do two things: They lock the strap in, plus their design essentially carries the locks in a sling. Less than five minutes to switch out. Phillips (to get the old one out) and an Allen Wrench (to get the Schaller's in). Take your time, turn and tighten slowly, they will go all the way in until flush (including the included cushion). Be sure to tighten the mounting screw on the locking part attached to the strap. A touch of vaseline on the shaft of the springloaded locking pin and you're all set. Yes, I said vaseline and shaft in the same sentence. 18 basses and never had an issue where the Schaller screw wasn't as snug as the luthier's original strap holder.
So secure, so easy, such quality
The Schaller S Locks look great and install in a snap. The real reward is being able to let go of the guitar when your not playing. Watch their installation YouTube video first.

Highest quality locks I've ever used totally noiseless look great
Schiller S-Lock guitar strap locks
A bit heavier duty than the comparable fender strap lock for about the same money. Very pretty gold finish matches my guitar with gold hardware. The install was a challenge because I didn't have a metric Allen wrench set. I got lucky and had a variable skinny screw driver tip that got bigger toward the shaft, and I was able to bridge across the hex corners. Use what you have unless… read more it strips the HEX corners. The guitar must go to a tech this week anyway, so he can use his metric Allen wrenches to check and tighten my work. A metric #2 & #3 is mentioned on install videos. This is the only drawback in the American market that doesn't use metric often.
