Savage Flexibility

The Savage exceeded my expectations. The clean channel is perfect, and with several the the tone shaping options that can achieve close to acoustic tones. Crunch 1 can cover a lot of ground between slight breakup to heavy Ac/Dc crunch. Crunch 2 has a very Plexi voicing and feel to it. Very snappy and unique for a high gain amp. The lead channel everything you would expect, and with read more the tone shaping controls, you can dial in a variety of tones. The midi feature is top shelf. Once I had the settings correct, it took minutes to save presets in my helix which controls all the tone shaping options and channels with one button. I have two presets so far, one for metal and one for classic rock and it almost seems like I have the variety of tone you would find in a helix or axfx. The price is on the high side and doesn't come with a foot pedal, but for all it can do, it's worth it. It you're looking for an amp that does it all, the Savage should be on your short list.

I am blown away by this head. Ive owned several Marshalls, Ampeg, Mesa, Peavy and non of them compare to the tone I am getting out of this beast. As a rock player, I am impressed with the flexibility of tone and how many tools this amp has to help you shape it. I recommend buying the Z9 pedal as it makes life much more easy for live playing. I used to use a Tube Screamer on my Mesa read more and Marshall to get just a tiny bit more crunch but no longer need it nor do I need my noise suppressor pedal. This is must for any rock players whether you are an 80's rock player or into current heavy rock bands. I am into both and this amp provides exactly what I need.

One of the best I have ever played.

I purchased this amp new early 2021 and it has become one of my favorite amps of all time. It has crystal bell like cleans or hit the bright switch for more highs. Want it to break np there's a switch that makes the clean break up earlier. Channel 2 is the absolute star for me as it extremely tight and thick. It gets to Metallica levels of gain at 2 o'clock and with an overdrive read more it covers the gamut. If you want more gain than will ever be needed without an overdrive channel 4 is ridiculous with how much gain can be achieved and with all of the other parameters you can tweak to your desire. Channel 3 is a bit of an odd man out for me. It has a gravely grisly sound that could be very interesting for an original death metal vibe. If you hook this up to a 4x12 with v30 the low end chump is hitting your chest and moving your pants leg. This amp is for the anti digital movement that while admittedly are awesome in there own right, simply lack the depth and punch of this beast in the room. This does what all of the classic amps I mentioned can do but with a slightly more balanced and modern feel. It got lows like the Dual rec minus the flub, its tight like a mark but not as tight and less sterile and the versatility of a JVM410. The noise gate is perfect and works so well for tight chugging. Some of my favorite amps for reference is the Peavey JSX, The Mesa Dual Rec and Mark V and the Marshall JVM series.
