Great for the price

This bass rocks for the price! Very tonally versatile and playable. It didn't start out that way though... When I got this, it had a dead pickup and action was too high for me. A few minutes of tweaking the saddles, and the action is on point. I called Sweetwater about the dead pickup and they gave me the option of sending it back or taking it to a local repair shop of my choice. read more I didn't want to have it go through shipping 2 more times, so I took it to my local repair shop. They confirmed the pickup was dead and Sweetwater had a new pickup sent to them and paid for the repair. Ended up working out in the end. Satisfied customer here.

Best bass I've ever played!

I've played a bunch of basses. Alas, not a P-Bass, but... I've played LTD, Kort headless (the one modelled after the Steinberger Geddy Lee played around Hold Your Fire), several others. This one blows them all away, out of the box. It's nice and solid, yet not overbearing in weight. The intent is a very aggressive tone, suitable for metal, but you can tame that down with the read more onboard tuning plus a decent signal chain, to the point you can make it sound almost like a fretless. I run mine through a Kemper Profiler Power Head, and with -one- rig, if I'm allowed to use onboard controlls on the bass, I can span five decades of tones. Unlike my former LTD bass, this one has a lot of character to the sound. I did hit a point when the weather changed, where the fret buzz turned into "suddenly will not play" I adjusted the truss rod, and all was well again. I actually like the compromise position I found. It came with a -very- low action, and prone to fret buzz. I now have no buzz unless I specifically just hammer it, but it's not as stiff as my LTD was, and it retains its ability to be a virtual chameleon. You won't find better, especially in this price range. It's honestly probably worth twice the list price. Schecter makes quality gear, full stop. This actually convinced me to try their guitars, and I love my Hellraiser C-1 FR that I just got today. They're seriously a quality vendor. You won't regret buying this bass!

Schecter Stiletto extreme 5 left handed bass black cherry

I"ve had it a week now and absolutely love this bass. The action on the fret board is smooth and quiet (no buzz) the feel in my hands feels natural. The black cherry has this dark look but looked deep and rich. Now for the sound. All I can say is outstanding this is my first 5 string and it took me about a day (maybe) to get used to the extra string. The sound has a deep rich sound read more and can growl beautifully. The low on this bass is incredible. Just a smooth sleek deep throaty sound that I love. I run this with the Fender rumble 500 the big muff deluxe fuzz boss OD and a boss chorus. So far I am in love with this bass and can"t wait to experiment with it some more. A big fist bump to Shaka for working with me and getting me this LH bass. Thanks guys great job.

I have been playing on and off for over 35 years, had a lot of different guitars and know a thing or two. This Schecter is an Awesome guitar for the money, very versatile in sound, good weight balance and I love the inlays in the fret board. Six bolt neck! I will say this, it has a 2 octave, 35 inch scale so be ready for longer fret spacing. It was set up right from the box - read more thanks Sweetwater!

Awesome 5 string for lefties

I've had Schecter guitars before and they are always well worth the money. This bass is no exception. The craftsmanship is top notch. The pictures don't do it justice (really gorgeous). The tones are wide and varied: the neck pickup by itself gives a kind of P-Bass tone, the bridge pickup soloed with the treble rolled off and a bass boost gives that fusion jazz tone. Both pickups read more on gives a modern-clean sound. The neck feels great. The body sits comfortably against my waist when I am sitting/standing. The weight of the body is decent for standing over 2 hours. Really impressed with this bass for the money.
