Worth every penny and more
This guitar is fantastic. Set up well and plays great
No complaints...
Only my second ever from a store instrument. All my previous guitars have been second hand or maybe pawn shop acquisitions.my other store bought was a beautiful Telecaster deluxe... Mom bought it in 73 for my birthday. Got the hard she'll case with it too. All totaled it cost her 450 bucks. Worth almost 3 grand today. Unfortunately I sold it only a few years after she got it. So… read more this is my second as I said. I am extremely pleased with everything about this great guitar. Finish is perfect, as are the frets and intonation. Stays tuned like it should. The 09 strings seem to be the right choice on this guitar so I will stick with them. Got the tweed gator case. Lots protection but not a custom fit although the guitar is well protected in every respect. Delivery was less than a week. Customer service as always was and is superb. If you want a great inexpensive guitar that will fill just about any need you may have this is it. I give it 4.5 stars because nothing is perfect.
IT IS A BEAUTY !

100% Satisfaction
I've been drawn visually to maple neck guitars for years - and generally, I seem to prefer them to rosewood or other types of fret boards. I was looking for a Gibson style E-335 style and ran across the Starcaster - which I vaguely remember from the '70's. Fender currently isn't making them, but Squire is. The maple neck drew me in as did the double humbuckers. The guitar arrived… read more a couple hours ago and this is the 1st break I've taken since un-boxing it. First of all, it's beyond me why anyone would buy a guitar online from anyone other than Sweetwater. They know how to ship a guitar so it arrives undamaged. Kudos... I love the fact that it was checked at Sweetwater and re-boxed. There's not a flaw on the guitar, nor damage. Surprisingly, I didn't even have to tune it. It stayed in tune from the time Sweetwater tested it until I received it. It plays really well, sounds fantastic and looks just as fantastic. My wife appreciated the Bit-o-Honey too... :-)
A cool Guitar.
Do not let folks tell ya Squier guitars are cheap. They are one fine guitar. The Starcrcaster is a well made guitar. So treat your self to one. They sound great.
Kickass axe
Can't be more pleased. Awesome sound. Awesome sweet neck. Makes my style of southern rock even sweeter. Rite out of the crate it's great. Thank you Sweetwater. Larry Russeau , Belmont n.h.
Buy One.
I got this baby yesterday and I let sit over night. Like I was told at Sweetwater. Plug Her in and wow. She sounds and feels Great. From Fort Wayne to Sacramento. She was hardly out of tune. They say Squier is the cheap brand. No way this is one fine Guitar. This Guitar can do it all. Can not wait to take Her to Church and play and show Her off. Buy one.
Love This Guitar
There's a lot of budget guitars out there, but I decided to try this one based on the Fender reputation. I couldn't be happier. First of all, the guitar is stunning to look at, just plain beautiful. That's only the tip of the iceberg. The neck is fast, the action great, and it just feels good to play. Fret ends are so smooth you hardly know they are there, tuners hold tune… read more so well I have only had to tune once in the last week. Checked the intonation on the meter when it arrived and all strings were right on the money. I'm frankly surprised to get such a good instrument at this price point, if I had paid twice as much would still have felt like I stole it. I recommend without reservation, you can't go wrong with this little beauty. One note, it will not fit most gig bags, it is almost 42", if you want a bag or case, make sure it is going to fit!
Low price but high quality.
I bought this guitar to add to my collection of "white" guitars. Even though it is the "Affinity" series Squier, it is very well made, sounds great, and is very playable with a great feeling neck and very good action. The only complaint I have is the head stock, it would be have much more eye appeal with a standard Fender shape head stock.
Awesome guitar, for either a beginner or experienced player.
This guitar plays and sounds great. Sweetwater set it up perfectly. The action is just at the sweet spot. I got this after playing acoustics all my life and I was looking for something to start developing my jazz chops, this is semi-hollow is gonna be perfect for that.
My new favorite guitar
Started playing during epidemic at age 48 for first time. I've bought a Jackson ( handed it down ) and an epiphone ( heavy block o wood with a neck attached) . Liked both at first but quickly found issues with both . Is it possible to find a beginner guitar with decent sound and playability and also has wall hanger looks and appeal . Well , the starcaster has checked all boxes for… read more me . Unique yet classical looking with a great feel and finish . My first squire and I'm very pleasantly surprised. Wish I bought a squire from the jump . Looking for another squire now and will definitely use Sweetwater.
Squier starcaster
Love the Squier and appreciate the quick delivery! thank you Tamir.
Astounding quality!
I have had this guitar for over a month now and I am still amazed. This not just a good guitar at this price point it is just a good guitar. It is well built, holds tune exceptionally well and it's style speaks for itself! It arrived very quickly from sweet water and was set up perfectly. I will not be doing business with any other aniline music retailer. They are the best!
Good basis
I bought this guitar as a project beginning. It is a good beginning guitar; exceptional value for the price. Great service by Sweetwater; always pleased with Ashton Vaudt's customer service. He's top notch.
Great guitar
I do not understand the review above mine, he hates the neck, pickups wiring finish, why did he buy it. I have the sunburst and i can tell you it is a great guitar low action, very nice finish, light weight, pickups sound pretty good and yes they are hot. It does no good changing all the wiring including pots and switches, people who do this are nuts, don't waste you time and money.… read more I have been an amp and guitar tech for a long time.
The workhorse
I bought this guitar for my daughter as her first new guitar, she was beyond excited when it came in, and has been putting in a staggering amount of hours on it.I picked it up and was presently surprised at the tones i was able to get out of it. from country to metal i never had any problem getting it to voice what i wanted it to sound like. I ordered the full set-up with it and… read more it arrived literally ready to hit the stage and in full tune. The service I received was industry leading, I got callbacks in a very short amount of time and all my questions and concerns were addressed on the spot and with non-confusing answers. I was taken care of above and beyond what i expected. I wont be going anywhere else for all my needs.
