Great bass

Mike Pettit

The Squier classic vibe 60s jazz bass is a great bass for the price. The neck plays vary smooth, the sound is really nice and it just feels good setting on my knee. I put some flat wound strings on it and lowered the action a little and it's just a great instrument. Also buying from Sweetwater makes buying anything vary easy. Thanks Mitch!

I liked this so much i bought another one . i especially love the pre ship inspection Sweetwater does. i have never returned and instrument from them but other online places i have returned almost all of the guitars i've ordered. Because of that i only order guitars from here.

I bought this bass for jam sessions that I could sweat on it and let other people use it. After playing it for a while, it has become my favorite bass out of three that I own.

Don't let the price fool you!

Don't let the price fool you! This bass will go head-to-head and toe-to-toe against its Fender counterpart. I bought this along with the Classic Vibe 60's P-Bass and have not been disappointed with either. Out of the box, you will most likely need a setup. If you don't know how to do a setup yourself, have Sweetwater do it for you.

My J Bass arrived in perfect condition. The color is a hit and it plays and sounds like a dream. My first Squire and my second bass from SweetWater. I play it almost every evening after work to unwind and refresh my mind. Time flies when I'm in the zone

Loving my new bass

I decided that I was going to learn how to play the bass. I have music background but no guitar/bass experience. I did a lot of research and read many reviews and decided on the Squier CV 60's Jazz Bass. The guitar is beautiful. I have received several compliments on it from friends. Quality and craftsmanship seem to be excellent. I'm very happy with the bass so far. Having fun read more learning. I'm really happy with the customer service from Sweetwater. Irving called me personally and made sure everything was good. Overall great experience with the new bass and with Sweetwater.

I bought this to dabble in bass playing. Pretty amazing what you can get for $400.00 now. It is flawless. Set up and ready to play right out of the box. sounds great. The pickups are well balanced. Can't think of anyway it could be better.

Back in Black!

This is an awesome bass. I had Sweetwater add Set-up and Flat wounds = WOW! I own three Fenders and three Squires and a Yamaha. All from Sweetwater. This Bass is great. Intonation perfect, looks great, plays like a Cadillac! Smooth and clean. I am an old 70's burnout. I play for fun, jam w/CD's. Really helps my memory and thought process! Getting old sucks but music has brought read more life back into my heart! Rock & Roll! Ryan is my guy at Sweetwater and he has been a real Champion in making sure I get what I want. Thank you!

Bad output jack, but decent starter bass.

I purchased this bass for my girlfriend. It's her first one. Everything worked fine except for the output jack. It was sticking something awful. So I went in to try and loosen things. The tab to the jack was short in length (not the long tab which you find in a Mexican model). I ended up accidentally breaking it off. Installed a new one with a quick solder job. All is well now.

Incredible bass - at any price

I purchased this bass primarily due it being rated as the number one bass under $650 in Bass Player magazine in 2019. The first bass that shipped had a problem with intonation and some fretboard markings. Jim and Toni at Sweetwater were incredible and I was sent a replacement that was flawless. And setup perfectly. This bass might play better than any of my other three, with one read more of them being a Fender American Performer precision at three times the cost. Pickups are outstanding and very linear in both volume and tone response. Love the Indian laurel fretboard and especially after cleaning with a fretboard wipe. Color is amazing (Daphne Blue). Everything about this bass is stellar. Highly recommended provided you get a good one that is properly setup.

Great Bass, Great Price

I bought this bass as a budget bass with the intention of converting it to an inexpensive 62 AVRI clone. When the bass arrived, it was in flawless condition, no damage of any kind. The neck relief was spot on out of the box, I only had to adjust the action and intonation a little bit. The frets were dressed appropriately and I found no sharp edges or raised/unseated fret. Once the read more adjustments were done, I went about comparing the sound to my current #1, an 09 Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. Wow! I could hardly tell the difference between the two when I recorded them side by side. Definitely held it's own. I have since completed the 62 AVRI conversion, added some Fender Pure Vintage 64 pickups and a stack knob control plate, and I've gotta say, what an impressive instrument. I really can't tell it apart from a 60s Roadworn or a Flea bass, other than the color. I would highly recommend this bass to anyone out there.

Best buy right here

Let me preface this as I am replacing an affinity p bass a friend loaned me like ten years ago. I have heard nothing but good things about the classic vibe and vintage modified lines. So as someone who really loves to play as a hobby this seemed enticing to finally get my actual own bass and get reinspired during my new lockdown quarantine lifestyle Here in festering fla. The bass read more certainly lives up to everything I've heard. It's solid, not too light, a little less low end than the p bass but that punchy jazz sound was something I was anticipating, even looking forward to. Plays great, no fret buzz I can hear. Looks fantastic (I mean, hey, it's black/tortoise) and the laurel looks so dang close to rosewood I can hardly tell. I've heard they can look light, faded, or grey even but not here. Honestly I would 100% compare this with any Mexican made basses which also punch above their price range. And I don't think you can find a better online retailer than Sweetwater, they really make sure the thing is playable out of the box. I even got images of the exact guitar after purchase as if I was adopting the dang thing. That with reasonable (actually attainable) financing means I got this and a new rumble40... Can't beat that.

Bass Player chose this bass for best of 2020 along with several other much more expensive basses. That's says a lot for a bass that is under $500F

Excellent bass

Set up was right on out of the box thanks to Sweetwater. Bass is a joy to play with punchy tone. Passive j-bass electronics are simple but let the bass sit perfectly in a band mix. Quality finish and hardware is excellent. Highly recommended.
