I've been playing for decades and prefer heavier guitars. trust me when I say it isn't if it's when will the guitar slip out of the strap or actually break it. Dunlop strap locks make this close to impossible. I put these on everything I own from a Squire bullet to my Paul reed Smith 513 Rosewood. A little trivia. I once owned a Warwick Streamer Pro 4 and the strap locks where inlayed read more right into the body. these strap locks fit perfectly. Hope this helps whom ever cares to read.

Awesome locking mechanism! So easy to put my guitar on and take it off!

I have two acoustic guitars; a 12-String with no second strap button and a 6-String with two. I got tired of tying the strap behind the nut of the 12-String because the guitar would not stay in position without cradling it in the crook of my right arm, and it made my neck uncomfortable. The second strap button on the other guitar would tend to unbutton when I didn't want or expect read more it to. I installed one of these on the 12-String and replaced the original one on my other guitar. Now I can enjoy freedom of movement, extreme comfort, confidence, and peace of mind!

I guess it was about 25 years ago that that p bass came off the strap and hit the floor on top of the atlas mike stand.Sounded like a mortar it did. I,ve been using dunlop straplocks ever since on all my guitars.Don't ever want to be that embarrassed again. Take it from me -it isn't worth it. and the dunlop hold up well.
