I've been chasing these sounds for a long time with a variety of amps and pedals and all I needed was this head and a Les Paul. The descriptions of Vox meets Marshall are accurate. It's got all that with a very vintage vibe and is very dynamic. I run it with a 212 and it's flat out amazing. No drive pedals necessary but something like my Wampler Tumnus as a boost is perfect. ZZ… read more Top, Stones, AC/DC, any of those great rock tones are there and it cuts in a mix like crazy. If I'd found this amp ten years ago it would have cost me much less in the long run. I may have to invest in its big brother one day tho. Magnatone nailed it.

Everything in the description is spot-on. The fit and finish are amazing and I can get about any sound I want out of this amp. The master volume works very well and the EQ is very flexible. I can easily get my Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Sabbath, Stones, James Gang, you name it, out of this amp while my wife talks on the phone to her mother in the other room. I've got 3 pedals on my board… read more I haven't even touched since I got this amp and matching cab. The clean input is very warm and tubey as well.
