A great choice for portable “Marshall” sound.
This amp is more versatile than I initially anticipated. If you want to play clean or use pedals for your gain then turning up the master volume and leaving it on channel one with the channel's volume low gives a great clean tone with plenty of head room. Increasing channel one's volume produces a great drive sound that isn't over saturated. Channel two has a great higher saturation… read more drive. Both are fairly prominent in the upper mids and work well in most mixes. Both channels clean up nicely as they should when the volume knob on your guitar is rolled back. Alternatively both channels work great with a boost or overdrive pedal to push them into additional overdrive. The master volume effectively allows you to bring the volume down but still sound good. I haven't cranked both the master and channel volume at the same time but based on where I've had them set at home I would be shocked if it isn't loud enough for most applications including gigging. It doesn't have built in reverb, tremolo, or other effects but does have an effects loop. I'm running mine into a 2 x 12 open back cabinet with greenbacks. The amp is also as portable as it looks, particularly with the included bag. The included bag has a small amount of extra room, mostly enough for a cable or two and a tuner.
Perfect amp for me!
This is a great amp. Sounds good in ch1, 2 or1/3 watt mode. Very light compact well ventilated case. The top comes off with 4 screws if you want/need to change tubes. External power valve bias contacts and adjustment What's not to like!
