Just what i was looking for!
Wanted a great-sounding clean, solid state amp head, so i can feed it my pedals. The Quilter is high quality.
Tone Block 202
Short and to the point - The Tone Block 202 rocks the block! It's incredibly versatile, extremely powerful and super user-friendly. I'm running an FX processor based pedal board into my TB 202 and powering a mini stack consisting of a pair of Mesa 112 Mini Rectifier cabs and it's EPIC! It sounds HUGE! Even at low volumes. I can get massive tone at any volume and it can get LOUD,… read more easily driving my mini-stack to face melting volume. I think this is "the one" amp for me. Sounds great by itself, with pedals or as a power amp for my FX processor. Thanks Quilter! And Thanks Sweetwater for having the best gear and the best service!
Awesome Amp
I love this amp! It has a really warm tone and so many settings. Just buy it. I went through 6-7 different amp to find this one. It's a keeper.
Fantastic!
I'm thoroughly pleased with the TB202. I had emailed the company to get some help. To my surprise, Phil Quilter responded. He took the time to help me find the sound I was looking for, even watching YouTube video's I sent to him. After a few back and forths, he recommended either the Reverb 101 or the Toneblock 202. Neither one was the most expensive, and I believe the Reverb was… read more probably the cheapest, from what I saw anyway. This head is upgrading my 1965 200W Fender Bandmaster tube head. I'm using the 2*10 cabinet from that amp, and the sound puts the Fender to shame. With the TB202, and my '51 ES350, I am getting the exact sound I've been looking for. In addition to that, it's a super clean, and quiet sound. No extraneous noise I was accustomed to when using the old Fender. I chose the TB202 simply for the XLR capability, and the fact that Phil didn't try to sell me on a more expensive head, just for the sale. He genuinely seemed interested in helping me find the sound I was looking for. I will be back when I can afford a speaker box. I'm a customer for life. Thanks Phil, and thanks to whatever hard working team you have on your side.
Great Amp
Great amp for both regular guitar and Pedal Steel Guitar. I'm using it with a 12" Telonics speaker for Pedal Steel Guitar but also bought it to use with my Telecaster. Sound is very "Fenderish". This is the same amp that is supplied with the new Quilter Travis Toy Signature Pedal Steel Guitar amplifier
