The king for a reason.
All guitar players know that if you show up at a gig or a studio with a Mesa, that you mean business. This is a beautiful head and it looks even better with a real Mesa Cab. To the person who stated the bass was too much, I had this same issue but once you plug it into a Mesa cab it is perfectly dialed in. I cannot express how awesome this amp is. Yes, it is very expensive but… read more these will last you for years if you take care of them. I've been a die hard Peavey user since I was a kid. I've used every Peavey I could get my hands on. Unfortunately, Peavey just doesn't cut it anymore. Stepping up to a Mesa, I see why they are heavily sought after. The tone is just unreal, in your face, and extremely versatile.
And still the effects loop is the weak point - nothing has changed
Bought the new version with excitement as they tour the new improved series loop. Yeah, still not truly series. Also, the bass was sooo hyped compared to my older prior Triple Rec that… read more I had to turn the bass knob down to 1 (of ten) to get the bass under control. Also way more fizzy than my prior Triple. I sent this one back and went with an older used model. My advice.. steer clear of this newer model. Sweetwater was great though in assisting with a seamless return.
Excellent product!
Mesa makes excellent amplifiers, the tone is great, the modern distortion channel is exactly what I was looking for, but what really blew me away was how clear the clean channel was, even at higher volumes it sounds brilliant!
