Pure Busking Joy!

Wow is an understatement, We busk in the subway and on city sidewalks and just WOW, you will never be with out volume or absolute tone control, just the pro Mic input alone is worth the price of admission as it only needs 4 AA batterys and there is little else offered for that. and as far as menus diving, Wow again! Every parameter is easily and fluidly available quickly and ergonomicly, read more every level for every effect and part is adjustable for any wet/Dry ratio you desire. and it's compact as in fitting in a buskers backpack. It also sports one of the best feeling encoder dials I have ever felt. While the VE-20 may add 2 more harmonys and is the same price, it also adds a lot more weight and is much more cumbersome. the VE-5 is just what the doctor ordered....

What the VE20 should have been

I have been using the VE-20 for a few years now and it is phonominal, especially for a solo act with a guitar and a drum machine. The only thing is having to get down on the floor between songs to change the keys and patches. The fact is I have been working on a plan for a remote foot switch jack for the VE20 and sticking it on the mixer stand next to me....It looks like Boss has read more that all figured that out with the VE-5.Basically it's a much more user friendly version of the VE-20 (which I wouldn't be without) I may be looking to sell my VE-20 instead of hacking it with a remote foot switch jack (Which is not really that hard to do BTW) Wish the VE-5 would have been around when I got the VE-20, though. Decisions, decisions.

Within 5 minutes of using this, I was able to record a background vocal loop for songs like Blue Swede, Hooked On A Feeling, and Black Water. The vocal alone pads are easy to adjust for ideal reverb and delay. The looper is great and easy to use on the fly since the unit comes with a mic stand mount. All in all I can feel my creative juices flowing for home recording and live performance. read more Bravo!

Working with vocal harmonies

I use it a lot when singing 2 part harmony , Everly Brothers, sounds great , the effects are real goods , reverb and delays. I think if I were to use more harmony parts i would get something like maybe a boss ve-2 where your harmonies are with a guitar.
