Great unit, missing one thing.
I have been using this unit for 3 weeks. I love it, it has been easy to use once I understood how to tweak everything. I have only found 1 major flaw. The function on the harmony button. It's configured to latch on and latch off with or without external pedal. I use a pedal for this function. I REALLY wish it was able to be configured NOT to latch on harmony button. While singing… read more I want to just hold it when i want the harmony on and release for them off. Right now I have push on and push off:/ would be amazing if they did a firmware update that added this functionality:/
Boss VE-5
Less than 48 hours after ordering it was at my door. Have not used the device yet on a gig, but very happy with it so far practicing in my studio. Using it as a supplement to my sax mic to get some different effects and sounds. This is replacing a much larger pedal board that was cumbersome to haul around, and offers even more opportunities to enhance my sound in a very much… read more smaller package. Very happy with the product, and the exceptional customer service every time I order through Sweetwater. The bag of candy was a nice touch.
Easy To Use !!!!
I have a collection of harmonizers and never was satisfied with any of them. The units always had an issue that made it difficult to use. Not any more !!!! My wife and I sing in a gospel group and use accompaniment tracks. Our problem was we had to hold down the pedal on our other BossVE20 unit then switch keys with seemed like eternity. This unit you just turn the knob and presto… read more you have the key you need and hit exit. Also setting the amount of harmony you need is a snap. You can also store your favorite settings but since this is so easy to change we didn't even bother. We didn't bother with the effects since our powered mixer is already equipped with those settings. If you need something simple and easy to use this is it. As always the harmony is decent sounding and someday they may perfect the sound quality. As for now this is our best solution for a quality sounding vocal processor.
I agree !!
Boss dropped the ball by getting rid of the 3 part harmony! I called Roland and they had no idea why they did it. What were they thinking?
Cool, but not a ve-20
Pros..Light weight ,has added aux. input and clever mic stand mount. Quality is equal to ve-20. Has footswitch jack allowing 2 assignable functions of your choice.Cons.. The built in condenser mic makes it more toy-ish than pro. But what keeps it from a 4 1/2 star rating, has only two part harmony....your voice and one harmony unlike ve-20 which has three part. For some, this will… read more be a deal breaker....
