VH2 is Amazing Clean and Dirty
This amp is incredible. Channel 1 (based off of their Paul amp) goes from clean to crunch with just the turn of the dial (below 12 clean, above dirty). Maxed out its like a more open version of Channel 2 on the amp. Toss in a pedal (blues driver with gain set low) and it tightens up and sounds pretty close (not exact but close) to Channel 2 around 10 o'clock. The clean is fantastic,… read more like one of the best I have heard. I like it around 11-1 or maxed out with my Les Paul volume rolled off. It cleans up so well with the guitar volume (hence the usefulness of maxing it out with a Blues Driver). This could be a 1 channel amp and I'd be fully happy just using the volume knob and a pedal. But then there is Channel 2 and it is all that I would expect from Channel 3 of the VH4. Never played a VH4, but the VH2 gives me all I would have hoped for on the dirty side from a VH4. Add in the clean on channel 1 and you got the best of both worlds. After all that. Just listen to the demo, if you like the Diezel webiste demo video, you won't be disappointed. Sounds as advertised. And yes it does bedroom level/ T.V. volume (65-70dbs) amazingly (as noted in said video), without a touchy volume knob. It tappers nicely without a jump from quiet to loud. If it wasn't 50lbs, it would be the only amp I'd need (with a 2x12 its not exactly a grab and go for short practice in the other room or down the street).
Diezel VH2
It's exactly what I expected!!! This amp is one absolute unit of fun!! Does it all with excellence!! From crystal cleans, blues tones, classic rock tones, all the way To high gain mayhem! Worth every penny!
Blown away
I've had this for a few months now and it has become my favorite amp of all time. Greatest clean channel I've ever heard on a high gain amp and channel 2 is so incredibly disgusting in the best possible way.
Absolute fire
This amp is absolutely ridiculous, totally awesome! There"s not really much more to say, if you"re worried... wondering will actually it be worth it, the answer is YES! There is 0 way anyone can say this amp isn"t just incredible. No other amp sounds like this, simple as that. Only downside to this amp is that it"s pretty darn big and super heavy, mine doesn"t leave the house so… read more that"s not an issue for me. But if you are looking to gig with this guy, after getting a solid road case for it, your 100% looking at a two man job to maneuver this bad boy around. Overall, there"s a reason why these Diezel amps are famous, one of a kind and super expensive, and its alllllll worth it.
Nothing Short of Incredible
I just spent about 3 hours yesterday with the VH2 and happened to come across this page today and saw the only review which prompted me to write my own review. First of all, Engl and DV Mark? Sorry, not even in the same league. One look at the PCB boards and that's painfully obvious. "Doesn't have as much clarity," and "duller?" Sorry, that doesn't describe the VH2 AT ALL. First… read more of all, this amp is utterly amazing. I've played the VH4 several times, and I can tell you that Diezel didn't just take two channels of the VH4, they managed to put most of the VH4 sounds into the two channels. It has a bountiful and tight low end, beautiful singing clean and crunch tones, all kinds of distortion sounds with meaty, detailed harmonics. Yeah, this is one one amazing amplifier. If you are wondering if you will miss a lot from the VH4, well you will miss a few things, but not much. This amp has so much to offer. The range between clean to crunch on channel 1 and then the overlap with channel 2 and range of gain on channel 2 are brilliantly designed. I use it at home for low volume practice and it sounds extraordinary. I turn it up for band practice, and it's all satisfaction. Surely it has the Diezel VH4 quintessential tone, but it's classic in its own way and fits a wide array of musical styles. Few amps can have such a gorgeous clean channel and click over to a brute fest, then roll back the guitar volume and spank out some classic rock chords. Perhaps this amp isn't for novices who don't know how to dial in a tube amp, and it will expose bad technique. Other than that, you get all of your moneys worth in this simple, straightforward amp.
