After 20+ years always wanting one, I got it today and love it.
I rarely ever write a review. This was one of those rare instances. When first saw a Whammy on the late Dimebag Darrell's rig and heard the awesome sounds he made out of it, I knew that one day I'd have to get this pedal. Later I saw the digitech drop pedal and wanted to snag one someday. Well, finally I could afford them in a combo package as the Whammy DT pedal and got it in… read more my hands today. It did not disappoint at all. I love both features and look forward to all the awesome things that can be done with this pitchshifter. Digitech costs a lot but for good reason here. It's best in class period. Features work great, sound great, and this pedal is solid for gigs and tours. If you can afford it, get this and don't settle of alternatives. They're simply not in the same league as this device.
Less wear on strings
Shifting the tuning of bass or guitar is easy with just a turn of a knob on the pedal. Now I can finally get to g without the strings losing all the tension ;)
I have the old whammy II, the new one is better
My old Whammy II broke, and while I didn't use it much, I still wanted to replace it. The new one is much better than the old one. Cleaner with fewer "glitchy" sounds. The detune function alone is worth the price of admission.
Money well spent
Just received mine today and I play a lot of deathcore with a bit of djent and was looking for something to do the crazy high octave squeals and this delivered. This pedal saves me time by allowing me to adjust the guitar tuning with a simple knob rather than " wait I have to drop tune for that" I highly recommend
Impressive
It really does the job well for drop tuning and of course the whammy I awesome and fun!! So many songs are in different tunings. Just makes it very easy to transition and be able to play them all no matter what tuning they're in, all on the same guitar!
