This is my first acoustic electric and for the $$ you can't go wrong. Great tone and really easy to play.
Really sweet
I've only been learning guitar for about six months (not new to music, though), and most of my practice has been on an old, cheap Delta guitar which is about 50 years old. This guitar is night and day different from that Delta. I also have a Strat, but this Yamaha is now my go-to for practicing. I've only amplified it a couple of times, since I don't need that for practicing, but… read more I wanted it to have that capability if I needed it. The cutout for reaching higher pitches is nice, and it comes with a rubber insert for the sound hole to help prevent feed back (which I've already experienced). The built-in tuner is great. I have one of the clip-on tuners, but I don't have to wonder where I put it or whether the battery is still good. It has a 3-band equalizer, as well as a volume control. There are strap lugs on both ends of the body, so you don't have to tie on at the head (unless you want to). I'm 67, and I have arthritis, for which the Delta was very unforgiving, but this guitar is a joy to learn on, and it didn't break the bank.

Great guitar I've owned two other Yamaha's over the years and have always loved the sound they provide. And how they stay in tune! This is by far my best Yamaha purchase for the money. Thanks for all the help Chris @ Sweetwater...
Perfect first guitar
This was my first guitar and I still absolutely love it. It's well made and easy to string. The finish is nice, I got the darker one, and holds up very well to use. The electrics on it are top notch especially for a mid range price. The tuner is great to have and works 99% as well as an expensive stand alone unit. It also sounds better than any $500 guitar I have ever heard. I played… read more tons in the shop before buying this one. It stands out for the price for sure.
A welcomed workhorse added to the stable.
I write on Acoustic as many also do. But I had always been an electric player onstage, since I prefer heavy genres of music. But I also am a fan of acoustic styles like Bluegrass and Classical.I had started picking up gigs with an acoustic act, that has picked up more gigs.My main acoustics are aged and vintage Gibson's and 000's.Age has made them a little temperamental to winter… read more gigs. I picked up this Yamaha to be my gigging guitar.I am now recording it and writing on it as well. It has songs in it. If you understand that.I am now considering an AC5R from my experience with this one.Worth double it's price in play-ability and tone, both plugged and unplugged.Great neck, stable, easy to use preamp for live tone.Win Win!Thank You Aaron Tremain and Sweetwater
