I originally purchased a vintage BB Bass back in 2017 lost it during hurricane Harvey. Needless to say I assumed their was no way I'd find a comparable recording ace at a affordable price. Thankfully I couldn't have been more wrong. I keep wanting to not like something about this bass because it's not made in japan, and I'm on a real country of origin kick right now. Although, I'm really struggling not to pull the trigger on a Fender American Pro Jazz. I have to say this BB Bass is a certified new classic.

Decided to give Yamaha a try and not disappointed. The maple fretboard/neck has a fast response with an even tonal character throughout the range. Hard maple with walnut stringers and reinforced 6 bolt neck pocket plays into the quick response. P and J bass pickups with a very linear volume and tone controls. No charging bursts of mids. However, they can be easily dialed in… read more for 'Jaco' when needed. I put flats on it and push two Big Bands with this bass. No need to bust a budget with others.
