Got me playing again!
So I roamed around music store playing everything 6 string acoustic. I have always enjoyed acoustic guitars but playing electrics SG, and strat.. I need pizazz and this guitar is fun! So this came out of a guy's van and says he thinks he has something for me! Sold me in a minute when I heard it and played it. Never thought about Yamaha before. Sustain and chorus gives ya ideas… read more ..sometimes I just strum and strum and strum and strum well you get the idea . Happy Happy
Like wearing headphones!
My son bought this guitar and it is unbelievable how it sounds live. The demo videos on YouTube don't do it justice.
The unbelievable FG - TA
Wife took me shopping and I got my Hummingbird, the Rachel in sales asked if we had seen this one. I retired and picked up this old habit. My wife listened to me play the FG - TA and said I deserve 2 new guitars. Great investment ! I mean the wife and guitar. haha . You will enjoy the special effect right out of the box.
Yamaha FG TA
I've recently retired and have the time to finally explore music. An old Ibanez 12 string brought me to the point where I felt it was time to move on and move up. Yamaha has earned much respect over the last few decades and I'm happy to report that I didn't have to break the piggybank to learn that my Yamaha FG TA will help my grandchildren and I grow in music. No doubt if something… read more doesn't sound right it's me and not the guitar! Now all I have to do is practice, relax and let the guitar ring. If I need a little extra oomph I press the button to add to the effect! Thank you Sweetwater and Thank you Yamaha!
Effects sound good!
I got some high-end Martin, Taylor and Larrivee guitars so I got something to compare this to.I picked one of these up at a music store not realizing at first what it was. I just wanted check out a lower priced Yamaha. My first impression was, "Wow! this sounds and plays great..." The balance and tone quality are quite pleasing. Also, it's got a rather punchy and focused sound which… read more may be an effect of the mahogany body. Then, I looked at the knobs and realized it was one of those Trans-Acoustic models. Like many of us, I was very intrigued by the ToneWood Amp device which delivers this effect but I was dubious about having a box stuck on the back of my guitar. While the device on this guitar only has reverb and chorus (ToneWood also has delay and distortion) these two effects sound good to my ear, especially the reverb which make the guitar seem to take up more space and have more presence. I immediately launched into a hard strumming tune with a gutsy vocal and good-golly that acoustic 'verb sure makes a difference! The guitar can keep up with a full-voice vocal much better with the effect which really encouraged be to sing out.Later, I may regret not getting some more expensive, deluxe model but I must say, for the price, the sound is impressive.
