I love it!
MY bass guitar came in perfect condition wow! The services Sweetwater gives is also very awesome. I will continue shopping here
Exceeded all my expectations
If this isn't the best value of any bass guitar, I'd be shocked. I'm a guitar player who just wanted a bass for recording rhythm tracks and occasional goofing around, so I didn't want to spend too much money. This Yamaha looked very nice and got good reviews, so I pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier. The fit, finish, and playability are far beyond my expectations for this… read more price range. The paint is beautiful, and the only flaw anywhere is a tiny dark spot on the back where no one will ever see it. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been going over it with a fine-toothed comb. The rosewood fingerboard is nicer than any of my guitars (which were all more expensive); a beautiful, deep rich brown with nice grain, and very consistent. Normally you expect budget hardware on a budget guitar, and I'm sure these aren't Yamaha's best pieces, but they certainly look and feel high-end. Everything has a beautiful smoked chrome finish and a quality feel. The pots turn very smoothly and the knobs look like some expensive aftermarket ones I bought for another guitar. The tuners are very smooth and solid feeling. I feel like I got a $1,500 bass... You really can't go wrong with this beautiful instrument. Highly recommended.
Great Bass for the money
This was my first bass that I learned to play on and got me hooked. Well made, easy to play, great sound. Way more than you'd expect for a $369 bass. I now have twelve bass' and this is one of them. I've bought and sold other bass', but I still have my TRBX304
Incredible axe for an unbelievable price
I searched high and low for a nice sounding and nice playing budget bass to supplement my main instrument (electric guitar) until I discovered the Yamaha TRBX-304. Tried to buy one during the entire course of the pandemic but couldn't because it was out of stock everywhere. Finally, I got the in-stock notice from Sweetwater and I pulled the trigger right away. It arrived yesterday… read more in great condition, perfectly tuned and set up by Sweetwater. I plugged her in, plucked some grooves, and man, does she sound fantastic. I can totally see myself playing this bass for a long time. She has a beginner price tag but sounds like a pro. Special shout out to Eric from Sweetwater who made the entire shopping experience even better than it already was. Eric, if you're reading this — thank you! It's people like you who take shopping to the next level. Highly, highly recommended.
Great bass guitar for the beginner
I take time out to make sure that I don't make mistakes in life... That said, I ordered the TRBX304 after looking what bass was best for someone just getting started that doesn't want to spend too much in the beginning. I did well to order that bass, and next is the Sire V7 vintage 4-string but only after I graduate from "bass school" and can play well.
Great bang for your buck
I was really intrigued with this guitar having an onboard equalizer. Now that I have tried that, it is a feature I will miss on any other guitar. Switching between the pick and finger presets is very handy for me. Yamaha did a great job jamming features and quality into an inexpensive piece. Absolutely a great starter guitar and robust enough for veterans to enjoy. The easiest to… read more play of any bass I have tried. Perfectly balanced with a very smooth neck.
Yamaha TRBX304
Always looked at this bass but never bought a Yamaha bass before . The color ( Mist Green ) was so cool I decided to buy it . Wish I would have bought one sooner ! Build quality is outstanding ! Well made , no rough fret edges, great electronics, nice neck AND it comes with decent D'Addarrio strings .Even the battery comes in a seperate pouch so it's fresh when you install it . Thanks… read more to Dave Snow for his input on this purchse ! 5 way switch really adds to different sounds you can produce on this bass . Not too heavy and not too light just right balance too ! Backed with Sweetwaters' service this bass is a great addition to your bass collection or if you are wanting to move up from a starter bass to the next level consider this Yamaha .
Epic axe, accessible price.
This is a wonderful instrument. Sound, feel, neck shape, weight, fit, finish... all outstanding. Pickups have great diversity and sound superb and have a cool indent built in as a finger rest. Frets were all really nicely laid in, no sharp edges. The 3-series TRBX's are a littler preferable to me to the sound of the more expensive 5's, they are 'rougher' but I like it. The 5-string… read more version is also really excellent.
Yamaha TRBX 304
Great for praise and worship team. I wanted the Ibanez Mezzo SRMD 200D, forrest green, but unavailable probably until June. (6 months). My starter bass was working intermittently. I tried the Yamaha TRBX 304 just because nothing else was available. It has plenty of thump, cut your finger nails, and then I can switch to the pick mode for back ground solo. Eg. RATTLE! . PICK MODE… read more between verses and chorus. We don't have a lead guitarist at the moment so the upper frets on the "G" (4th) string did the trick. I've only been playing bass for about 9 month But I actually enjoy it now more the accompany guitarist.
A little setup required
Overall this being my 1st bass I am thoroughly pleased. Got this to learn more and have for tracking I'm doing in my home studio. After a little setup it plays like bitter.
Bass guitar
Fat pickups, very nice!
Great Bass for the price
Got this bass last Thursday and fell in love with it. The picture doesn"t do justice. The color is gorgeous and it came set up right from the box. That"s gonna be my practice bass and eventually be a tenor bass (tune A-D-G-C). The neck and frets were perfect. My only grip? All active! Wished it had a passive option on it but my pedal will take care of it. Colton was excellent and… read more on point. Can"t wait to do more business with him & Sweetwater. I see why Sweetwater get raved reviews for customer service!
About time
Its about time yamaha started putting selector switches on their basses. I had an older model that you had to select pickups with the volume knobs. Thank you yamaha!
Does it all
Playing for over 40 years I look at my tools as just that, tools. This instrument with the preset EQ settings on the 5-way switch, lets the working bass player go from thump to funk in no time. All the sounds are usable. The electronics are quiet and the body and neck fit me perfect. The body is light and balanced standing or sitting. The neck is unfinished and fast, and two octaves.… read more the hardware is good. My playing styles are from Jazz , R&B to rock and country. The setup was also playable right out of the box.
Trbx304
I am not a very good bass player as I mainly play guitar. I had a hard time finding a bass that was as comfortable and playable as my fender precision bass but this bass is awesome. I wanted a bass with active pickups the eq switch is awesome very comfortable body and neck. I learned don't buy a guitar just because it looks cool get one you can enjoy playing and this one is aces… read more on every detail a joy to play
Condition of product
The Yamaha TBX304 4- string bass is an absolutely wonderful bass guitar.Upon arival tho, the bass was grossly under set up with SUPER high action and buzz throughout the instrument.I'm used to impecable service and awesome product delivery of items in the past which suprised me comming thru Sweetwater. Not only was the bass not set up and the truss rod was freely moving and unattached… read more to the body with SUPER high action, there were several knicks and scratches on the neck and edge of the fretboard. It clearly was a prior return from another customer. After spending money on a guitar tech to address the issues(who said it was one of the longest set ups he has ever done), the bass was impecable and plays like a bass much more expensive.Overall, the assistance and help resolving this issue was incredable and could not of been handled better.I still highly recomend Sweetwater for their great products and wonderful customer service, and love the products they sell.
