Exceeded all my expectations
If this isn't the best value of any bass guitar, I'd be shocked. I'm a guitar player who just wanted a bass for recording rhythm tracks and occasional goofing around, so I didn't want to spend too much money. This Yamaha looked very nice and got good reviews, so I pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier. The fit, finish, and playability are far beyond my expectations for this… read more price range. The paint is beautiful, and the only flaw anywhere is a tiny dark spot on the back where no one will ever see it. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been going over it with a fine-toothed comb. The rosewood fingerboard is nicer than any of my guitars (which were all more expensive); a beautiful, deep rich brown with nice grain, and very consistent. Normally you expect budget hardware on a budget guitar, and I'm sure these aren't Yamaha's best pieces, but they certainly look and feel high-end. Everything has a beautiful smoked chrome finish and a quality feel. The pots turn very smoothly and the knobs look like some expensive aftermarket ones I bought for another guitar. The tuners are very smooth and solid feeling. I feel like I got a $1,500 bass... You really can't go wrong with this beautiful instrument. Highly recommended.
Incredible axe for an unbelievable price
I searched high and low for a nice sounding and nice playing budget bass to supplement my main instrument (electric guitar) until I discovered the Yamaha TRBX-304. Tried to buy one during the entire course of the pandemic but couldn't because it was out of stock everywhere. Finally, I got the in-stock notice from Sweetwater and I pulled the trigger right away. It arrived yesterday… read more in great condition, perfectly tuned and set up by Sweetwater. I plugged her in, plucked some grooves, and man, does she sound fantastic. I can totally see myself playing this bass for a long time. She has a beginner price tag but sounds like a pro. Special shout out to Eric from Sweetwater who made the entire shopping experience even better than it already was. Eric, if you're reading this — thank you! It's people like you who take shopping to the next level. Highly, highly recommended.
Yamaha TRBX 304
Great for praise and worship team. I wanted the Ibanez Mezzo SRMD 200D, forrest green, but unavailable probably until June. (6 months). My starter bass was working intermittently. I tried the Yamaha TRBX 304 just because nothing else was available. It has plenty of thump, cut your finger nails, and then I can switch to the pick mode for back ground solo. Eg. RATTLE! . PICK MODE… read more between verses and chorus. We don't have a lead guitarist at the moment so the upper frets on the "G" (4th) string did the trick. I've only been playing bass for about 9 month But I actually enjoy it now more the accompany guitarist.
Great Bass for the price
Got this bass last Thursday and fell in love with it. The picture doesn"t do justice. The color is gorgeous and it came set up right from the box. That"s gonna be my practice bass and eventually be a tenor bass (tune A-D-G-C). The neck and frets were perfect. My only grip? All active! Wished it had a passive option on it but my pedal will take care of it. Colton was excellent and… read more on point. Can"t wait to do more business with him & Sweetwater. I see why Sweetwater get raved reviews for customer service!
