It’s a tube screamer, but clearer

There is no wrong configuration with this pedal, the controls are very musical and the ranges are wide but not excessive, I previously had a TS9 and although it was good OD, sometimes I wanted to have more treble sound and I couldn't, with this pedal you kill two birds with one shot, sometimes it works as a transparent Booster at others as a powerful and mid-focused Overdrive for read more solos, plus you get more gain than the TS9

This is THE overdrive your looking for

Omg this pedal has a lifetime spot on my pedal board, it really is the main creator of my sound. I love high gain and this 805 just threw it over the roof. What a sound, what a feeling.

I was working with a Ibanez TS Mini for a while and was pretty happy, but once I swapped it out for the 805 I immediately realized what I was missing. The drive isn't as muddy as a Tube Screamer (I would run my TS with the drive completely down and the level cranked to compensate) and you can fine tune the frequency response with the EQ to give solos a little more presence live. read more I think this is definitely an upgrade in my book!

Fantastic Overdrive Pedal

This pedal is exactly what I needed to complete my sound. My Egnater Armageddon is a fantastic amp, but tends to get a little mushy sounding once the gain is up. Using the 805 in front of the high gain channel with the level at maximum, overdrive at zero. Pretty standard use, like a tubescreamer. Where the pedal really shines is the 3 band EQ, I'm able to tweak it just right and read more tighten up the sound of the Armageddon without getting too brittle or too boomy. It's like having a new amp, I really can't imagine playing without it now. I was also able to dial in some very nice blues drive, and crunch using it on the clean channel. I'm more of a metal head than anything else, but the versatility and pure tone that you get from this pedal is worth every penny.

Creamy Drive

First of all, the aesthetics of this pedal are sublime. I don't know why but it's just a beautiful pedal to look at. Also, for those that don't know, the 805 is Central California/Santa Barbara, and if you've ever driven the 101 in the summer in that location, it's a mind**** of a views. So, the concept of the design execution speaks to me.Most importantly though, let's talk about read more the drive. Increasing the drive adds a slight but noticeable crunch when the eq is unaffected. I have a Vox Nighttrain and it has great cleans... Cleans that don't breakup real quickly... Which is a flavor that I don't find extremely inspiring... But the channel takes extremely well to pedals. I run Fender HSS/Texas Special Neck/Seymour Duncan Hotrail Middle/Fender Custom Humbucker > through the 805 and into the amp........ The sh*! sounds like a gotda@$ed Saxophone in the mid to highs... Solid but hollow in the bottoms. Real glassy, real creamy, real clear. Just brilliant. The eq is great, too... It's kind of self explanatory. I like that I can affect the treble on my Marshall amp in the higher gain range and then transparently open the sound back up on the pedal. Helps reduce that Marshall sizzle/tube hiss but still maintain some top. Any pedal eq will do that really, but to be able to do so much on one pedal is dope. There's not much more to say except that this pedal is the real deal. Tastefully executed concept. Never selling it.
