Done searching
I researched this pedal for a while. I use a Marshall DSL40CR with an older British made V30 speaker. Ive been through almost every OD and Dist pedal out there. The second runner up to this pedal was my MXR Classic OD. The FD1 has a great volume control. You can back it off and crank the gain for a softer distortion sound or set the vol around three and lower the gain and push… read more your input tube for a great rock/metal sound. I bought this for a number of reasons but the main one being the old school comp cut(which does flex balls!). But I find myself using the Vintage mode the most. Running into an already gained amp channel sounds amazing ! The flat mid mode is usefull as well. Great for 7 string or drop tuning. Or a mid honker amp lol! Note: This pedal also runs on 18V which is manufacturer recommended for more volume and headroom. I will definitely try that out asap.
Phenomenal
I have many screamer pedals from various brands, and this one takes the cake. Every selection option is very useful, and this is a pedal that tends to stay on all the time for me. I primarily use it for blues, but love the slightly pushed rhythm tones I can get from it, and it's a monster when placed in front of another drive pedal. Could not be happier.
Fulltone Full-Drive 1
This is a great pedal and a welcome addition to anyone's pedal board! Similar to my original Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer with the addition of the voicing switch. Definitely would recommend it if you are considering an overdrive pedal!
If you only use one pedal in front of your amp... this is it.
Just received the Full Drive 1 and it is one of the best overdrive pedal I have used to date. Ran it in front of a 64 Princeton, 90s Vibro-King and then a 65 Princeton Reverb. There are numerous options to shape your tone and dial in the right amounts of distortion and drive. From a sweet fat sustain, to crunch, to a clean boost this pedal does it all.
Very Nice
I put this pup in front of my Rockerverb MKIII and it tightens up the sound nicely. The sound pleases me a great deal.
