Really good Big Muff type fuzz
Got this thing a couple years ago b/c I couldn't find a Rams Head Big Muff... wasn't sure about it upon purchase but once I plugged it in I was very impressed. It was on my board for two years before I finally got the Rams Head. I A/Bed them and was really stunned at just how well the 850 mini replicated the Big Muff tone. In fact, unless you are A/Bing then, you're not going to… read more tell much difference. If I was forced to describe a difference, I'd say that maybe the 850 is a little warmer and the BM a little fuller. But I'm telling you, if you can't find a Muff, this will do the job nicely and you could even argue it's got a sound of its own that you may even prefer. The full version of the 850 cleans up a little better and the BM will have a wider range of usable tone, but if you just want to get gnarly, this will do the trick very well.
Versatility is amazing
I don't remember ever having one single effect pedal that delivered such an amazing range of sounds... I usually leave tone and level at 12 o'clock, but I can't stop fiddling with them. After finding the right settings to pretty much duplicate my 808 Tube Screamer, I'm not really too sure how much I'll even use the TS after getting this. I'm no music historian when it comes to fuzz… read more pedals, but I can say this one packs quite an array of sonic stories to add to your sound book, I can't recommend this affordable little pedal enough. Blown away.
Who knew? What a beast this thing is!
Absolutely stunned. Mitch in the retail store recommended this to me, and I thought he was nuts! Everything you need, and nothing you don"t. Tight and focused with enough spatter to give it character. Nails the J. Macis tone. Absolutely love it!!
Mini Fuzz- Grande sound!
Big sound coming from this tiny pedal! Lots of variations to get just the effect your looking for. Plenty of room on your pedal board for it. I'm enjoying the crap out of it!!
Whole Lotta Fuzz in a Small Platform
When I imagine fuzz, I didn't know it what pedal had in mind, until now. The 850 Fuzz is that pedal that sounded like true fuzz to me. You can go from a touch of fuzz to full blown fuzz, just turn the big dial. And it comes in a mini which is great to fit on my pedal board. All this and the price is really reasonable. Very happy with Sweetwater and Ibanez Fuzz pedal. You will… read more always have room for a pedal like this......
