Aetos 8-output Isolated Guitar Pedal Power Supply Review

Exactly What I Needed

My old supply went in me. This was just what I needed. The price is perfect and I notice a small dip in the noise level in my signal. It powers my board really well and with another 120v out, I can keep an iPad charged or use it to power a floor light. Pretty sweet!

Walrus Audio Aetos

i have used a daisy chain for about 20 years but never had more than 3 pedals so it was sufficient. recently i have been experimenting with different pedals and thought a dedicated power supply would help with my current setup. i wanted to support a company that makes their gear in the US, so it was this or the Voodoo Lab supply (or Strymon, which seems massively overpriced for… read more what it is). the Aetos looks cooler (my opinion) and is... cheaper for the same number of outlets, so i went with the Aetos and am happy to have done so. i did not experience a quieter rig as some others have, but i do use a Live Wire power strip with a EMI/RFI filter that noticably reduced noise when i started using it. but the Aetos works as it should, i can actually spread my pedals out now, and the two 300 mA outlets are great because i do have a pedal that is 300 mA. Love it! don't think twice about this one - the Aetos is great :-)NOTE - it does not say this in the manual, but i emailed Walrus Audio support to ask if i could use a voltage doubler adapter (two spots to one outlet) to power an 18V pedal and they said yes (and it works, see the Echo Dream 2 in the photo). the reply was quick and polite, great service from Walrus Audio. i will be buying more of their stuff in the future.

Reliable, quiet, small!

Fits perfectly underneath my board. There is no extra noise in my signal chain. Currently driving 6 devices. A couple outputs are higher power, perfect for multi-effect pedals. Fully isolated supply keeps things clean and quiet.

Love it!

Got one of these recently, as I make a lot of pedal heavy driven , atmospheric music with another guitarist. We always would just chain pedals on the floor of our rehearsal space, but this little power supply is great. Small, sleek, and easy to use, right out of the box, it's great to lose the one spot that was powering both of our chains, and have a clean, direct in to all my pedals… read more being used. I plan to use this under my Pedaltrain boards that I ordered, and finally have a nice tidy setup. I love everything Walrus makes that I've bought so far, and this is no exception. Excellent quality and functionality from a fantastic company.
