Matthew Effects Architect v3 Foundational Overdrive/Boost Pedal
I was thinking of buying a Radial Plex tube, but there were none instock. Chris Sanders recommended the Architect v3, so I figure I give it a test drive. Well it lived up to every thing Mr. Sanders said it would do and more. My son, Stephen (who also plays guitar) use it and like it so much, that I had to buy a second one, in order to get mine back. Sweetwater service is first class… read more and knowledgeable. Will be a customer for life and thank you.
Excellent boost
This pedal is an evolution of the Klon style boost- having many additional options from the Klon or its usual Klones. This pedal I think functions best as a lead boost on an already driven sound. When setting it to its highest gain in combination with a ts9 it has a very nice smooth lead sound. Using it as a cleanish boost in conjunction with my Uberschall pedal it has super sweet… read more and lush lead tones. I don"t really like it as a clean boost for riffing I prefer to use a ts9 as a boost for riiffing. But the lead tones cannot be beat. The build quality feels great and the artwork is really cool. I like all the tonal options as well. I"m very pleased that this pedal is worth every penny at least to me it is.
Still chasing more tones
This thing has a lot of tones. Going back and listening to the interviews about this, that's the whole point. I know I sound like an ad, but there are so many settings and ways to morph your tone, it's nuts. You'll be able to keep tweaking and getting new good tones out of this thing. It's not something where you have to dig for a tone that works, I've had success just turning knobs… read more and landing on several good ones. It's really an easy pedal to get to work right Ok top of that, the art is great, I really love the style, and the box is pretty as well. There are just a lot of nice little touches that I really appreciated, and am glad we're thought through.
