Fantastic Control and Versatility
I love Jackson Audio and the way I get versatility and options without being overwhelmed. It is an investment in their pedals but you so much is packed in and they want to maximize your live playing options. I love being able to model 4 styles of distortion and overdrive and boost the EQ at the same time. I love that 80's hair metal sound dialed in with a programmable mode. I am… read more an intermediate player and I have always missed on copying the sound of what I want to play. This allows me to get the sound I want dialed up and is so much fun.
Easy Mateus Tone
Bought this pedal out of curiosity and it definitely exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a simple set up with a nice variety of tones, this pedal is a great option. Just simply plugging this pedal into a tube amp has been so much fun for the past few months since I received this pedal.
Meh!
I really wanted to like this pedal. The idea of four petals in one sounds great. I also bought the mouse chip with it. Overall I didn't find much gradation of distortion. I had the gain almost off and it was still more than I care for and fuzzy sounding. On the chip that came with the pedal I had to boost all the high-end because it had an overall very bass heavy sound. When I switched… read more to the mouse chip it had the opposite effect. I had to pull back all the high-end and boost the bass. Again, there wasn't a lot of gradation in the distortion and overall was thin sounding. I used a telecaster. The drive side of the pedal could've been great but I was not impressed. I was hoping to be able to dial in a little crunch to my sound but it just got too fuzzy. The tone control reminded me of an old radio tone knob that went from muffled to tinny. I really like the company and wish them the best but this pedal just wasn't for me. Mateus is a brilliant player and that's what caught my interest but it just goes to show, his sound is in his hands and not the hardware!
