Friedman BE-OD is a fantastic distortion pedal.
This is an awesome distortion pedal. It really nails a modern metal sound with the tight control. The tight control is a great feature to have if you are using extended range guitars or down tuning. Overall, i would definitely recommend this pedal.
Best Distortion Pedal Ever!!!
I just got my artisan BE-OD and I absolutely love it. It’s the best distortion pedal I’ve ever played through I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. I did buy mine used off reverb to save a little cash but would happily pay full price for a new one it’s worth every dime.
Friedman be-od ltd overdrive
This pedal is my new favorite, it has that amp in the box sound but also has that amazing clarity that friedman amps are know for.I can't wait for my next live gig to show what this pedal can really do,don't second guess or sleep on this pedal it's the real deal !
Friedman BE-OD
Sounds really good for a pedal; very amp-like distortion into feedback if you push it a little. This is a high-gain pedal; I did turn the internal trim pot to 9:00 as it's more useful there to me. Doesn't quite sound like a tube amp, but it's close. The artisan edition does make it a bit difficult to read which knob does what. Only bad thing I can think of with this.
Fire Breathin' Dragon
This is one helluva pedal. Friedman is local here and I work with some of the folks that know him and/or work closely with him. As a disclaimer, I have never met the man, nor have I played through any of his revered amps. I didn't want to ask my pals to get me one because I'll be honest, at first, I thought it might suck hard and didn't want to be stuck with something I'd have… read more to resell online (like most of us tone-seekers do)... so of course, I called my Sales Engineer, Derek Senestraro at SW and asked him to ship one of these off to me and to pick whether he wants to send me the OG black/gold version or the Versace edition. Derek is awesome and has been my dude for the last decade or so. Well, he chose the Gianni Versace special edition so here I am. We've all seen the demos -- I too wondered if it would have that classic grind and heavy distortion that is so prevalent in the Friedman heads and of course reminiscent of that Marshall sound. Especially because I run Fender amps (with the exception of my EH-185 Gibson CC). I ran this thing thru my DRRI, HW Fender 57 Tweed Pro Reissue with a 15", and Custom Shop Bass Breaker from 2002 which was hardwired by Alessandro High End. I can honestly say, those amps weren't even close to breaking up when I stomped on this box. Everything you've read is true. I haven't dialed-in the little gadget inside it, but there is a LOT of tonal options on the top and you can get everything from the Appetite sound many of you crave, to hard hitting Djent and anything else in between. Cult of Personality, no problem. Mouth for War, served up cold. Man in the Box, get some. Reckless Life, all day. Custard Pie, tip your waitress. Twice as Hard, pick it up. It's all there and more with a lotta tonal options. Turned the vintage single coils into fire breathers, vintage humbuckers screamed, and P90's (both low wind and standard) made my dogs howl. Grab one and don't hesitate to get this limited Gianni Versace version. If it was good enough for Tupac and Biggie, there's no shame in having it on your board.
