Perfection
Running this as my main drive pedal into a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25 and it is FANTASTIC. I couldn't recommend this pedal more. As always JHS didn't disappoint.
Low-Mid Gain Overdrive for Blues and Classic Rock
Hey, Dads. Are you looking for a drive pedal that can cover blues, classic rock, 80s and country? Buy this pedal. I don't play any of those genres, and I am currently cranking the gain on this pedal to about 75% for a crunchy Marshall sound. But you could totally do those other things with it, too.
Crunchy
Excellent simulation of the 1960's Marshall JTM45 "Plexi". The gain knob on the pedal gives you the same sounds as the volume knob on the amp - 25% for slightly warm clean, 50% for light crunch, 75% for heavy crunch, fully cranked for thick overdriven awesomeness. All for much less money and at a much lower volume (if you want). If you are looking for the tight, high gain 1980's… read more Marshall JCM sound, this isn't it. This is old school Marshall and it sounds incredible.
First JHS Pedal
The Charlie Brown is my first JHS pedal. I've been watching their YouTube channel for awhile now and know they make quality pedals. Finally took the leap with the Charlie Brown. I was looking for a Marshall in a box pedal and did a lot of research. It fits the bill perfectly. The Charlie Brown is crunchy, warm and the 3 band EQ really allows you to dial in your tone. The gain control… read more lets you go from transparent boost to full on dimed Marshall sounds. You can't go wrong with the Charlie Brown.
My always on pedal
This is the pedal that i always have on when I'm using my pedal board. The angry charlie is great too for heavier sounds but to me this has the most natural amp style OD that you can buy. It's a JM45 in a box and it's great. Use this for your lower to medium gain settings and then the angry charlie for your heavier tone. I'm honestly surprised they haven't come out with a two pedals… read more in one type pedal for their Charlie series.
