Reminds me of a Klon and a SD1
Hear me out on this. I contacted my buddy and said that I feel that the Cleo into an overdriven amp is much like a SD-1. I compared it to a handful of my SD-1s and into an overdrive, they are very similar with the Cleo being a little more "modern" and louder. At first I thought, well for the price if it sounds very similar to a SD-1, why not just get a SD-1. I don't know why… read more I did this because when I use a boost, I don't think much about hitting the clean amp with it, but I turned my amp (in this case it was a Mesa TC100) to clean and hit it with the Cleo and its character is about 1000% different than a SD-1. Naturally I had to mess with it a bit more. Using a Klon clone, the tones are similar. Back and forth I went from the clean to the dirty channels and then I turned off the tight mode on the TC100, and in the overdrive mode without the tight switch engaged on the amp, it was more of a clean boost. For those not familiar with the TC100, it has a tight mode which is pretty much a grid slammer set at noon, built into the circuitry of the amp. This tells me that this pedal (the cleo) pairs well with a grid slammer. I messed around a bit more and was very happy with the tones. The cleo is a cool pedal. I'm probably going to take it apart and find out which pedals it most closely resembles (that is unless I find the schematic online).
