What I got was exactly what I wanted: A thick, molten, creamy, fuzz. This unit doesn't spit and sputter but it does give you a nice thick, almost distortion, but is far more sinister. Add to that the red mid bump button and you're cutting through the mix with a more aggressive tone. I've owned a big muff®, Fulltone 69', and Analog Man's Peppermint Fuzz (still own that one)… read more but the Crimson was the fuzz sound I was after. While the pedal does have a larger footprint than a standard single switch pedal it's not really a space hog (but I have no idea what's on your board so that comment may be of little value.
