Amazing operation. Thanks!
Not bad
I've used this for many a show and pedal and overall I'm satisfied with it. I do, however, have a few problems with it running the kind of setup that I do. It has 10 outputs that CAN run at 9v, but the two variable outputs have no real indication of exactly what voltage it is actually running at and I have run into issues with unwanted "sagging". I have also not met anyone that… read more wants more than one variable output if any and a similar problem occurs with it having four 18v outputs, it seems very excessive. I also wish it had a higher Ma output, it just cant keep up with some of these high power demand pedals that are coming out.
Isolation critical
Like other gear geeks i wouldn't object to the power supply 9vdc standard negative center connections be rated for higher current. But, as the designers state that the 80ma rating is underrated, I've not had any problems with running the pedal board. 4.5 stars only for this reason. An example of this is the Digitech whammy Ricochet shows 300ma input requirement, but it actually… read more runs at 235ma, and using the variable plug rated (underrated) at 200ma, the pedal has no problem being able to pull enough current. Still, I'd like to see the MXR 403C power supply with higher current capacity. The 9vac 800ma would be great to see at 1300ma for example. TMI? Maybe, but with pedals becoming more complex and demanding CLEAN power, more current would have been a 5 star. (IMHO)
Heavy Duty
This thing is heavy duty and it's heavy! I had to adapt my board to get it to fit correctly but it has all the inputs I'll ever need!
MXR MC403
This is a great power supply. I am a big fan of MXR and Dunlop stuff. This is the most full-featured power supply on the market today. Fully isolated. Only qualm I have is the size, it's huge. Large and heavy but worth the trade off for that many outputs.
