If there are scratches on it,,they are not noticable in the least ! Guitar was in tune, action was perfect for me,and the intonation was spot on..Thanks for the… read more GREAT setup !! Guitar feels very nice, sounds amazing and is easy to play having 12 strings. I have an acoustic 12 string and this Danelectro is so much easier to play !Very Happy with this purchase!
Astonishing -- Get one now!
As an owner of a Rickenbacker 360/12, A Taylor acoustic-electric 12-string, and a TEO 12-string mando-guitar, I feel as though I'm fairly well-qualified to review this guitar. And I'll just launch by saying this is the best playing, most enjoyable 12-string I've ever picked up. Period. The guitar arrived with a very, very good set-up right out of the box. Intonation was good, frets… read more were excellent; the truss rod wanted a tiny tweak, otherwise it was flawless. The lipstick pickups work well and produce a distinclive jangly sound, particularly on the bridge p/u. Nobody will mistake this for a Ric, but it's close enough for government work -- plenty of chime and jangle from the bridge pickup. I absolutely love the sound of it. I won't be using the neck pickup all that much, but it's OK, I suppose...muddier; best suited for strmming rhythm patterns. The constuctio is simple enough and the materials moreso. My only ding on the whole affair is that the volume and tone pots had just zero taper -- they could have been replaced with buttons or a toggle swithc, as they were on or off -- no gradation. So I had tose replaced with some quality pots and now it's wonderful. The playing experience couldn't be better. The neck is sent straight from heaven; it's that good -- fairly wide and flat, easy to strum, finger-pick, do single-note runs...in fact, I can play just about any of my 6-string solos on this thing with ease. The payability is just absolutely amazing. And it's light and well-balanced on the strap, making it a delight to gig with. The guitar stays in tune amazingly well, and is just a breeze to work with. I even adore the pastel colors that the guitar is available in. Mine is aqua, and it looks great and turns heads every time I pick it up in public. So I'll sum it up this way: need an electric 12-string? You've come to the right place. This is without a shadow of a doubt the one to buy.
Outstanding.
I bought this guitar seeking the chime and it has that. Bought a great SKB case at the same time. The instrument arrived and it has a very solid 50's and 60's vibe. The sound, plugged in or not, is just a bunch of fun. The ringing fullness is worth every penny. This guitar provides a lot of great sound. It is a light guitar with a tad neck dive - it has a lot of hardware up top,… read more so I suggest a wide strap to spread the hold. Will strongly consider a 59DC six string Danelectro, as well. Always Great dependable Sweetwater service.
Danelectro Vintage 12 String a whole world of possibilities
Danelectro Vintage 12 String is an amazing electric guitar, very easy to play comparing with another 12 strings guitars, with a whole world of possibilities since its classic 60's jangle sound in the bridge pickup ( Beatles, Hollies, ...) or its beautiful acoustic clean sound using neck pickup where open chords sounds great, you can create a lot of different textures, amazing intros… read more or use it on latin music simulating a "Tres Cubano", this guitar is my new secret weapon on music production.
