Awesome Sound
So far I have only tried a few of the suggested settings that came with the Diamondhead pedal. I immediately fell in love with it. It is exactly what I was looking for to push my Marshall DSL40CR. I highly recommend it. The level of customer service and support I have received at Sweetwater has been equally as awesome!
Meh
I returned this pedal. Yes, it has a lot of gain and active tone sculpting, but it simply does not sound like any great 80's stack. I know, I was on stage all the time in the 80's playing JCM800 and Mesa Boogie amps. This pedal just doesn't sound like an amp, it sounds exactly like a pedal, very solid state, not warm. I tried it through a very fine Dr. Z tube amp, just made the… read more amp sound like a cheaper amp. Much like Wampler pedals, this lacks transparency and takes over your guitar's tone with a sound of its own. There are better pedals out there for less money.
